Its a 2001 model. There is no noise when I start the car, but after a short while it stars chir chir chir continuously and stops immediately when the car is switched off.
The belt expands when it gets warm and causes it to make noise. Time to replace the belt.
It sounds as if the belt is dry. Belts dry out after a certain amount of time and then start to make chirping noises. If the belt is not badly cracked, you can try using a belt lubricant spray. These sprays usually only last for a short period of time, though.
