No subwoofer with Ipod or CD but works with Radio - CDA-9885

I put in an aftermarket subwoofer. It works great with Radio on my Alpine CDA-9885. However, it does not work with the Ipod input adapter or CDs in the unit. I am assuming we missed something in the connections, but not sure where to start. I have seen other units that need blue wires hooked to other wires, but would rather see if anyone else has experienced this and knows of a solution specific to this unit.
Thanks, Steven

You need to switch from the blue to the blue/white on harness...you are using the antenna turn on...which powers down when in aux mode or cd mode...

How do you hook an ipod up to the CDA-9885 Alpine sterio?

Hello billybob3491,

The best way would be to add the Alpine optional proprietary iPod connection cable. This will give you full control of the iPod from the radio. Your CDA-9885 uses the KCE-422i optional cable.

The cheapest way (with lower quality audio) would be to use a generic FM modulator with a mini-jack input. The Scosche FMMOD01 shown here is sold in numerous stores from $17 - $50. Another downside with this method is that you have no control of the iPod from your head unit. But, hey! It works.

Hope this helps.

Cda-9885 ipod not searching

I had the same problem. I got it resolved by making the MIX OFF. Just press the button number 5 to make the MIX (Random Play)ON/OFF. After the search you can set the MIX to ON. However set the MIX to off before you start any search every time.

CDs and Ipod wont play with Alpine CDA-9885

The Alpine has two tigger wires when it turns on. One is an AMP TURN ON wire (blue/white) and a PWR ANT wire (blue) and that wire only comes on when using the radio or an optional HD radio unit ... When it was installed/connected . someone hooked your amp turn on wires for your "full range amps" to the PWR ANT wire. And the sub amp trigger is either hooked correctly to the AMP TURN ON WIRE or somewhere else, it probably shouldn't be... Check it. Amp triggers should all be to the blue/white wire from your alpine. Warning: Alpine trigger wires, are very easy to mess up they supply a very limited amount of power.

Cda 9883 and cda 9885 2008 model no song issues

My ipods fuction fine with my Alpine CDA-9885 ... have you tried pressing the display button on the Alpine? The KCE-422i cable takes quite a beating ... You might check the cables.

CDA-9885 Alpine No audio from Ipod - CD Playback not working

Disconnect whatever is attached to the BLUE wire at the back of the Alpine deck. Re-connect it to the BLUE/WHITE wire instead. This should solve your problem.
