Does you car volume get lower when you stop. If not sounds like an internal issue. No sound at all my brother hooked his up and when he switched to tuner everything would go through the subs but you would not know it sounded like his 6x9s no bass. was a wiring issue. I dont know if this helped or not.
The best way would be to add the Alpine optional proprietary iPod connection cable. This will give you full control of the iPod from the radio. Your CDA-9885 uses the KCE-422i optional cable.
The cheapest way (with lower quality audio) would be to use a generic FM modulator with a mini-jack input. The Scosche FMMOD01 shown here is sold in numerous stores from $17 - $50. Another downside with this method is that you have no control of the iPod from your head unit. But, hey! It works.
I had the same problem. I got it resolved by making the MIX OFF. Just press the button number 5 to make the MIX (Random Play)ON/OFF. After the search you can set the MIX to ON. However set the MIX to off before you start any search every time.
The Alpine has two tigger wires when it turns on. One is an AMP TURN ON wire (blue/white) and a PWR ANT wire (blue) and that wire only comes on when using the radio or an optional HD radio unit ... When it was installed/connected . someone hooked your amp turn on wires for your "full range amps" to the PWR ANT wire. And the sub amp trigger is either hooked correctly to the AMP TURN ON WIRE or somewhere else, it probably shouldn't be... Check it. Amp triggers should all be to the blue/white wire from your alpine. Warning: Alpine trigger wires, are very easy to mess up they supply a very limited amount of power.
restoring factory settings won't revert the player back to previous ipod software. Check with the alpine website product support and see which ipod software versions are compatible with the car deck you installed.
I would think the latest version would be supported. then go to the apple website and download the most recent version of itunes that alpine says is compatible. connect your pod and open itunes. upgrade the pod to that itunes version and try it again with the car deck.
