Red battery light even with new batteries - then shuts down

Fujifilm Finepix AV130 12 megapixels has suddenly started showing a red battery on the screen and then turning itself off before we can take a photo. We have changed the batteries - no luck. We tested the old batteries - they were fully charged. What can we do? Unfortunately we have run out of warranty.

Your camera can work with 2 AA sized batteries.
Always charge NiMH batteries before using them for the first time, or if they have not been used for a long period.
Always charge sets of batteries together.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In most cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
AA manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries and NiCd rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this camera.
If you are sure you have good batteries, also check if all contacts are clean and shiny. No oxidation is allowed. To clean contacts never use sharp tools. They can damage the camera forever.
Eventually clean contacts with a cotton swap or a dry cloth.
Also check if no debris is in the battery compartment. Just a little pice of paper can spoil all the (camera) fun.
Just to make sure, try some other batteries, then the ones you are sure of, they are fully charged. Perhaps, next time you are less convinced.

SOURCE: Hi recently bought a fujiilm

go to ur shop where u've purchased or else go to service centre.......i think the problem must be associated with the power supply....the metal films inside the battery chamber must not be in contact when u put ur batteries...or the battery may be wrongly connected...

SOURCE: My fujifilm finepix s1600 all

hi Does it mean no power at all? So then you have 50 and 50 chance repair for just brown fuse or main pcb replacement. Your local repair shop would charge around $45 to 145 depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

My Fujifilm Finepix S8000FD was unused for a long time and had its batteries leaked, I cleaned it and it says batteries are empty?

It takes 4 x AA batteries. Are the battery contacts on the compartment door, and the battery contacts in the base of the compartment clean and shiny. Usually when batteries leak, they cause oxidization on the metal.

The camera does have very specific requirements.

Batteries are required to operate the digital camera. At
first, load the batteries in the camera.
Compatible batteries
AA-size alkaline batteries (4) or AA-size Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries (4) (sold separately)
CAUTION
• Never use the following types of
batteries, as they could cause
serious problems such as battery
fluid leakage or overheating:
1. Batteries with split or peeling
outer casings
2. Combinations of different
types of batteries or new and used batteries together
• Do not use manganese, Ni-Cd or lithium batteries.
• Use the same brand and grade AA-size alkaline
batteries as those supplied with the camera.

And on the next page it shows the polarity two up, and two down. If those weren't correct, you would be on reduced power.

When using brand new fully charged batteries. After only 2/3 minutes use, the camera displays the red battery warning icon and then shuts down,

Some batteries, although the correct nominal voltage for the camera, are not powerful enough for continued use. I have found the best solution is to use rechargeable NiMH batteries of at least 2100 MaH, preferably 2500 MaH.

I don't know how to charge my fujifilm ax600 series

The AX600 is a camera, not a battery charger. It uses standard AA batteries, disposable or rechargeable. If you use rechargeable batteries, you need to charge them outside the camera using a separate battery charger.

Battery fails to charge, get red exclamation mark even with a new battery

There should be a explanation for the Exclamation Mark in the trouble-shooting section of your cameras manual, did you check that??

My Fuji Finepix S5800 tells me my brand new batteries are flat.

It sounds like you have bad batteries. I have had rechargeables that have suddenly done the same thing. I have learned that buying really cheap ones doesn't work out. If you buy a good branded set, I think you will find that they are much better. :)
