When I Connected my Jazz 2.0 to PC to download photos I received this error message. "the device is not connected or is busy please connect the device and try" Which I have done many times. So I decided to un-install the programs and re-install from the disc. But the PC could not read from it and froze the system. I had to eject the cd from drive to unfreeze. I cleaned the disc but still the same problems.
Butting in on viri.
Unload the software and leave it out.
Windows has ample resources to read your camera directly.
Be also aware that downloading images from a camera is a great drain on the battery.
The best way is to invest in a USB card reader.
May I know the following information about your problem-:
1. What PC are you downloading to and what is the operating system on it e.g. Windows XP?
2. What programs did you unistall? The operating system of the Jazz 2.0 programs?
3. What disc did you clean? The Cd or the hard disk.
4. What did you use for cleaning the disk?
5. Do you have antivirus software on your machine?
Please answer quickly so that I can find a solution for yor problem.
I take this opportunity to thank you for being a wise computer user and trying by all means to protect your machine and software. Please invest in a licenced antivirus software if you can. I recommend AVG Antivirus with both Malaware and Adaware facilities.
Now for the solution of your problem. Jackboy is correct because Windows XP can handle downloading from a digital camera without necessarily loading the software for the camera.
1. Connect your camera thru a USB cord to the computer and switch the camera on. The computer should be able to identify it. Some digital cameras get recognised if they are on play/edit mode rather than on taking picture position.
2. Follow the screen instructions to download the pictures to your computer.
3. If nothing happens with 1 & 2 above then go to START and MY Computer and double click that icon.
4. A screen showing all drives connected to your computer will appear including D or E whatever the case maybe where your camera is connected identifying your camera by name.
5. Double click the icon with your camera connection and the software will start reading the contents of your camera and then you follow instructions on the screen.
6. The pictures on your camera will then be displayed on the window and then you can mark all or some of them for downloading to the computer.
I hope this solves your problems, if not please advise accordingly.

Dear Viri,
1. My PC that I’m downloading to is an Acer Aspire SA80 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4. My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition Version 2000 Service pack 2
2. That is correct, I uninstalled the operating system of the Jazz 2.0 programs by using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
3. I Cleaned the Cd disc with the Jazz 2..0 software program.
4. I used Cotton Wool Balls with Metho for cleaning the disk.
5. Yes. I do have Anti-virus software on the Computer . AVG Free Edition 7.5.0.497, avast version 4.7 Home edition. I also have: Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spy-ware Doctor Version 5.0.1.200, AVG Anti-Spy-ware 7.5, Windows Defender Version 1.1.1593.0.
Hope this has helped you to help to solve my problem. Thank you for responding and helping.
Dear Jackboy and Viri,
Thank you both for your advice and we have success. I now am able to download the photos again. I had a couple of minor hiccups to start with using my computer, so I tried the same steps using Adobe Photoshop Album and achieved downloading the photos. With the Jazz software I used Ulead for photos, but I found that program very slow. We have been using Adode mainly for downloading and organising web photos. So I will now use this for our digital camera photos.
It’s perfect now, thank you again.
