I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty (2wd,V6). My son drove it to school today with no problems. When he parked it, he tried to use the remote to lock the door, but nothing happened. When he got back in the car and tried to start it, the electrical system was completely dead--wouldn't turn over, no instrument panel lights, no radio, no horn, etc. We tried jump starting it, but got absolutely nothing happened (no lights, etc.) Could this be a computer problem or a security system problem?

SOURCE: 2002 jeep liberty - limited - electrical problem

Just found 2002 Liberty problem with lights and back tailgate door latch and interior lights and radio. Had them working off and on and then blowing Fuse # 34 off and on. Thought maybe BCM control module stuff. Turned out to be Drivers side Visor wiring crimped through and shorted out at the were it is attached to the ceiling.
Totally cut through. If you remove visor screws chech the wiring there. So far everything is up and running.

SOURCE: Security System

Any time the battery goes dead or is taken out ,when you put it back in ,or recharge it you must do this .rotate the key in the door 3 times ,then do the same in the ignition switch ,car should start.

SOURCE: 2001 Chevy Impala won't start

If the battery has gone dead, it could cause the security system to go into full lock-up mode. If it has locked up the accessories will work after the battery is charged back up , but the power to the starter will be cut off and it wont turn over. You need to do the 30 minute learn procedure. A GM dealer will print it out for you and you can do it yourself. It's very simple if you follow the procedure exact. hope this helps and good luck.

My 2004 Jeep Liberty goes in park but still rolls back.

It is a known issue and a fairly easy fix according to this, or you can get a transmission place to do it.

I want to change a 3.7 motor off of 2004 jeep Liberty 2wd in order to fit my 2002 jeep liberty 4wd?

engine swaps are complex as is mixing engines to wrong transmissions.
so both are 3.7L, is that it?
you never said what exacty didnt fit.
the flex plate to TC
or TC to A/T pump side mismatch.
????????
if its the flex then get the correct flex plate.
or call jeep parts? ask them for the right parts
the side of the trans has the trans part number
my guess is all you need is the correct flex plate for engine to TC.

Remote

Do you have your manual? If not it should reset if you stand near the vehicle's engine compartment (2-3 feet) and press two buttons simultaniously. You should hear an audible beep or doors should lock. Hope this helps!
