I have a 1999 Ford Windstar. Last year someone tried to steal my gas and disconnected the hose. It was leaking gas quickly and smellling of fumes. I immediately took it to a station and they reattached the hose. The very next day it smelled of fumes but was not leaking. Since that time when it is hot outside 95+ and after driving about 30 minutes it starts to smell again. It didn't smell all winter but just started again when we hit the hot weather. It is not leaking gas and the check engine litght does not come on.

I don't think that will help. The van has been cleaned several times since then. Also, it only happens when it is hot outside. I'm thinking it has to have somethnig to do with the venting but I don't know the anatomy of a van?
