I have a 2003 delco gm 6 disc Cd changer out of a 2003 tahoe. I am trying to put it into my 2003 Chevy silverado. Now I have already unlocked the radio and it works but the sound isn't loud enough. I know its designed for a car with six speakers but my truck only has 4 speakers so it is not pushing enough power to the speakers. How can I make the radio talk to the computer in my truck to recognize it has only 4 speakers?

Try to disconnnect power to it so it will reset itself then try using a cd cleaning disc in it. If the problem still persists the unit is probably faulty. Cd changers was 90's technology it is time to step up to an MP3 source or music on a usb drive. You can store much more music.
The CD changer probably failed to establish it's link to the head unit when you put the new battery in.
Since you've already tried the clear button, I'd suggest unplugging the IP-BUS cable (black cable) from the back of the changer, wait a minute (literally, 60 seconds) and plug it back in.

This is common with OEM changers and is the leading reason for upgrading to aftermaket audio systems......you can try blowing compressed air into the CD slot, if the problem is dust related this may help.
