If your tapping the F-8 key on bootup and you cant get to the safe mode try tapping the F-5. If your P.O.S.T is not working then i would suggest a Bio's update. But be careful when doing this as if you loose power your computer will be good for nothing but a boat anchor.

SOURCE: CAN'T LOGON ....SAYING .....THE USER PROFILE SERVICE service failed the logon .user profile cannot be loaded ...never had problem before ...normally type in password and it loads ..

this may be a corrupted file for taht particular user thats causing the problem why cant you try opening the other user profiles or if you cant access that too then try turning on your pc and when the list of user profiles appear press ctrl+alt+delete key in and order but you should keep allthree keys down like how you would keep the shift button down while typing an upper case....now when you press all three down a small dialogue box will appear requesting username and password in the username box type administrator and click login no password required after it logs in create a new profile from the control panel but don't use this user profile again because if this gets corrupted then you would have to format your computer.....formating it will delete all the data stored on your pc.....

SOURCE: L350-170 Logon Failure

Sounds like profile corruption or virus problem. Try restarting the machine and tapping f8 until menu appears. Go into safe mode then logon as administrator. If you can get into windows, go to control panel then user accounts. Create new user account then restart machine. Log on using new user account and copy all personal files/folders to new user account.

Your password may be wrong. To rectify it, login as administrator and from the Control Panel->User Accounts delete your account and after a reboot, create it again if you have to have some accounts.

SOURCE: I can't logon. It says User Profile Service

Use the Function key or Delete key to stop the machine from booting all the way, in other words, interrupt the normal process. You can try to use the "restore to the last successful boot" selection. If that doesn't work, you can re-install Windows.
What is happening is that windows wants to run the program to let you input the user/password selection and cannot start it. Maybe it cannot find it or the 'file got corrupted' standard Microsoft answer.
Personally, if find that a horrible excuse. Computers are not supposed to corrupt files willy-nilly.
Anyway, you likely have a hard drive dying slowly, and should back up any files you need from the machine ASAP, and then re-install windows.

User Profile Service failed the logon error message

The User Profile Service failed the logon.
User profile cannot be loaded is a message you sometimes get in Vista or Windows 7. Many suggest editing the registry but for novice users that can be dangerous. Here is an alternative solution.
Logon in safe mode.
  • Restart your computer and log into safe mode: As your computer is rebooting, press F8 Repeatedly after your POST screen. If you get the OS screen, you need to start over.
  • Choose safe mode with networking
  • Open internet explorer and copy and paste this site into the address bar:
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-the-user-profile-service-failed-the-logon-user-profile-cannot-be-loaded
  • Click on Microsoft Fixit which is down the page

If this resolves your issue, 4 thumbs would be appreciated.

Won't login

when your netbook starts up, press f8 and from the following menu, choose to start using safe mode with gui. If you have specified an administrative password at the time of windows installation, use that to log on. If you have not, you should be able to simply log on with the administrative account. Now, go to the control panel>user accounts and create a new user account. Now, you should be able to logon using the new user account. Make this one an administrative/standard account instead of a limited one. When you logon using this account, you should be able to get your data of the previous account from C:\Users\<previous profile name>... You can take backup of this data and then delete the previous user profile to avoid further confusion.

Hope this helps.

Have a netbook but no passwords when turned on windows asks for password

you can try to see if they have set an administrator password, start the computer in safe mode (Hold down F8 when booting) and when it boots click on the administrator logon icon, if there is no password (as there sometimes isn't) you can log on and go to the user control in control panel and create a new user. then re-start and logon using the new account you created.

On booting up my Inspiron mini 1012 netbook it keeps displaying 'the user profile service failed the logon' and 'user profile cannot be loaded'

Try logging in on the admin acct then delete and recreate the profile. If it doesn't work you can try switching off the comp then continously press F8 while turning on the comp and choose safe mode, then do a system restore.
