Hi there.
The best way to deal with the PC not waking from sleep or hibernation mode is to disable it from doing it altogether.

Click on the control panel and select power options, you will see a window pop up with options like when to turn off the display, when to set the computer to sleep and so on, all you have to do is set them to never and you won't have that problem again.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

    When did this problem start?

For some reason the settings have been changed or important files are corrupt.
Firstly i would try performing a system restore, you will find system restore if you click on the start menu, all programs/programs, accessories, system tools and then system restore.
Try choose a date as far back as you can without it loosing any data, if not back the data up first and then try restore the system.
If the restore is successful, try set the power settings again, see if that works.
    Please keep me posted.

Well its usually the operating system that controls what the system does regarding sleep mode but in some unusual cases its been known that a graphics card can play a part, so i agree with you there, try it on the on-board graphics, at least you would know whether it is related to a possible bad install or bad graphics drivers.
Please let me know how you get on.

I recommend you check the hard drive for bad sectors and then reinstall the operating system again.
Once you reinstalled the OS make sure you defragment the hard drive.
If you need advice on how to check and fix system errors and bad sectors please post back.

    Hi again.
Click on my computer, where it says local disk c right click on that and from the drop down menu select properties, then click on the tools tab. You will see in the window a few options, select check the volume for errors and click on check now, make sure there is a tick in both the boxes for fixing system errors and checking for and recovering bad sectors and click start.
It may take up to an hour and a half to complete so the best thing to do is not use the machine while it does this.

    Regards

A75-s2112 unable to connect after hibernation

Yes! disable hybernation, this causes all kinds of problems from window file corruption to complete shutdown of your system, "worst idea that microsoft came up with" once you do that the system will start to run better, and when not in use shut yor windows down.

I accidently shut my computer down with hibernation before leaving. When I come home, the computer will not turn on, no lights no noise, nothing. How do I unlock the hibernation? Or could it be something...

You need to hit the power button just the once to bring it back out of hibernation mode. It may take around 30 seconds until you hear your computer starting to boot back up and a little longer for the screen to come on.
Failing this, you can try a hard reboot by holding down the power button until you hear your computer re-boot. Usually you need to hold around 10 seconds. However using this last method as a final resort will result in your computer telling you that it did not shut down properly.

Computer goes in to sleep/ hibernate mode and I can not wake it up without shutting it off, and restarting

Hi,
If we are talking "hibernate", then that's what the computer does - it saves the whole memory contents on the hard disk and shuts down. You then have to power it up and it boots like always on power up, but instead of loading the system the usual way, it reads the hibernation file and restores the state in which it was when hibernated.
"Sleep" or "standby" mode is different - the system stops execution of all the running programs, switches the processor into low-speed, low-power mode, executing only the basic functions of waiting for wake-up signal. Depending on machine and settings, it will be woken up by keyboard event, system event (like laptop battery running out - time to hibernate), network activity, or the power switch.
It should wake up when the Fn key on keyboard is pressed, the lid is lfted up (if it was closed of course), or when you momentarily press the power button. If it does not, then something is wrong with your ACPI/Power Management setup, and/or there are some drivers missing or corrupt. You can try going to IBM/Lenovo website and looking for updated system drivers for your model.

You need to take off your hibernation.
In control panel display then screensaver. Then click power at the bottom of that screen.
You'll see a setting for system standby you can set that to never. At the top click on hibernate remove the check in enable hibernation.

Dell crashes and restarts upon sleep_suspend_hibernate

I'm not a big fan of using hibernate or standby, I've seen it cause too many problems, such as the one you're having. I shut my machine down when I'm done, or let it run if I'm coming back within a reasonable amount of time. I've also seen hibernation or standby create operating system errors or glitches, and premature hard drive failure. If the machine is working properly other than hibernation/standby you should shut the hibernation off and just shut the machine down when not in use. If you're getting this error when using the power button to turn off the computer, then the operating system has glitched or is corrupt and needs to be reistalled. If you need anymore help with this let me know.
