Touch Freeze, a free utility program may help fix that problem. I assume this just started to happen, correct?
If that fails, try another keyboard, preferably a USB Wireless Mouse/Keyboard.

SOURCE: Acer 1690 keyboard arrows problem

Sounds like your number lock maybe be on. It could also have a shortcut function option that is on. If not, have you spilled anything on it lately?

SOURCE: When typing keys unexpected windows pop up instead of proper letters. Spilled water on keyboard, but even with different kepyboard, same thing happens.

Please use the instructions in this link to review the functions of your keypad. Perhaps pressing fn + esc will disable the hotkey function that has been inadvertently turned on, or perhaps you have enabled the quick launch buttons or the embedded numeric keypad. I'd have to know what keys perform what functions to say for sure.
If you work through this article and still have issues, consider the possibility that you have a stuck key, or that malware has been installed on your system. If the latter seems to be the case, I recommend you follow these malware removal protocols to scan for and remove the offending program.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

When texting how to inter mix letters with numbers?

When you are on the letters virtual keyboard and want to enter a number or a symbol, tap on the box marked '123' or '123Sym'. That brings up the numbers+symbols virtual keyboard. After entering the number(s) or symbol(s), tap on the box marked 'ABC'. That will bring back the letters virtual keyboard.

I have tried holding the zero key while pressing the start button on my toshiba satellite, but it does nothing to bring up any recovery.

Try hitting any of the following keys:
  • F8 (should bring up the windows boot screen, and on there you should see "Repair your Computer" or something similar).
  • esc
  • del
  • f7
  • r
  • c
  • ~
  • home
I believe F8 is the one you need to hit, but the others are keys I've seen to be various boot options in the bios. Note: F8 needs to be hit after the BIOS screen but before the loading windows screen.

Im not sure what happened but a sticky key caption appeared on my screen and i just deleted but since then when i hit shift key to get symbols and the AT sign it wont work and its frustrating when trying...

You've turned on Windows' "sticky keys", one of the accessibility options. Pressing the Shift key 5 times in a row activates it. Sticky keys lets you type key combinations (Shift-x, Ctrl-Shift-x, Alt-x, etc.) one key at a time. It's for people who have trouble holding several keys down at once. Press the Shift key again 5 times to bring the sticky keys dialog box back and turn off the function. You can also disable it permanently in the Control Panel's accessibility settings program.

Clear a plasma monitor

I presume you have burned in an image from some source? Plasmas are very sensitive to burning in so be careful when hooking up a device that doesn't have pixel shift or dimming. Think about how a DVD player splash screen looks.

You will need some sort of source device that can give you WHITE and BLACK. If you have a VGA input on your plasma (more than likely) hook up a computer to it using the PC input and bring up PowerPoint. Bring up just a blank new presentation. Hit the F5 button or click on the tripod screen button. This will bring up the full display screen, which should be white. If not hit the "W" key on the keyboard. If the burned image shows up as a gray or black image, leave it on for a few minutes and then check it periodically.

f you don't see a burned image when in WHITE mode, hit the "B" key. This will bring up a BLACK screen. Check your screen again. Keep doing ot until the screen is clean. By the way, this will not completely remove all burned in images.

Sleep Mode Lockup on Dell Inspirion 530 w/ Vista

Try hitting the "Windows" key on your keyboard to bring it out of sleep mode. The "Windows" key is generally found on the bottom row of the keyboard, near the Alt and Ctrl keys, and it has no letters on it, just the Windows logo. That key brings my Windows Vista machines out of sleep mode when other keys won't.

As for the power button, anytime you need to force a computer to turn off, you can press and hold the power button to do so. Usually, you need to hold the power button for 5-10 seconds and it will shut down. Use this option with caution, as it turns the computer off without running through the shutdown process and can cause you to lose data.

Hope this helps.
