We just bought a new uniden phone system and the Answering Machine keeps answering the phone after 2 rings. I set the base machine setting to answer after 6 rings but it didn't change.

If you have changed the setting on the base station and that did not work, power your base station off completely and try again if that does not work you have an out of box defect and need to exchange it.

Stations don't ring even though day ring and night ring enabled.

Sounds like the ring assignmet programming has defaulted.( all lines ring at station 4 only)
To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
2) enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
3) press the line you wish to program
4) press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
5) press # when finished with the line
repeat for each line

Can not hear the telephone ring on one of the main phones upstair

You will need to know which line(s), and on which station(s) (extensions) you want each line to ring.

Programming is accomplished as follows:

Default Installer Password = INTERCOM *746
You can enable different ringing assignments for individual lines and stations.
You must program ringing assignments on a per station/per line basis. You can control ringing for every line that has appearance at a station assigning immediate, or direct, ringing to some lines and delayed ringing to others. NOTE: Do not program direct ringing for lines that you assign to the direct department calling feature.
To Program: 1. Dial 54. “STA/LINE CONFIG.”
2. Dial 1 “DIRECT RING”
—OR—
Dial 2. “DELAY RING”
NOTE: For no station ringing, skip step 3 and make no line selection.
3. Select line ports for ringing (LED On = Selected Ports).
—Line port 1–14 = Dial 01–14 or press A1–A14
—Line port 15, 16 = Dial 15, 16 or press B1, B2
—Line port 17–24 = Dial 17–24 or press HOLD then press A1–A8.
4. Dial # when all line ports are selected.
5. Select station ports (LED On = Feature Assigned)
—Station 10–57: Dial 10–57 or press C10–C57.
6. Dial * when all station ports are selected
—OR—
dial ** for next station/line ringing assignment
—OR—
dial ***for configuration mode.
To clear current setting, repeat procedure.

Use an LCD speakerphone and a DSS/BLF console at station port 11 or 13 to see which features are assigned to individual stations. While you can install any non-LCD digital telephone and use it for programming, visual feedback of the programming operations will not be available. You must always keep the handset of the LCD speakerphone on-hook while you use this telephone to program the system.

Change number of rings on Comdial Impact

Thsi change needs to be made in sys programming. Usually with a pc and vmmi software.

If you have that, call up your station and there is a setting for station fwd to vm setting you can adjust.

Phone doesn't ring at station

Sounds like your station (phone) is set to not ring. You need to check your ring assignment.
Feat # *
Enter password (default is 000000)
Press the soft key under "show"
Press the soft key under "next" until 1. STATION appears in the display.
Press the soft key under "show" SHOW STA:_ appears.
Enter your station number and press the show soft key
Press the "next" soft key until RING ASSIGNMENT shows on the display.
Press the "show" soft key. You will see CO LINE 1 : followed by NONE or DAY or NITE or BOTH.

If it says NONE, your phone never rings for an incoming call. If DAY or NIGHT your phone rings depending on the time of day and the time definitions for DAY and NIGHT programmed into the KEY unit. If it says BOTH, your phone should ring all the time.

If you need to change the setting, press the "chg" soft key until the desired setting comes up.
When you're done with LINE 1, press the "next" soft key to move to the next line. Repeat the process for all your active lines. Obvisously changing settings on lines with no CO connection will have no affect.

While your in the mode, check your RECEIVE ASSIGNM as well to make sure your phone is configured to receive incoming call. It was the station feature just before the RING ASSIGNMENT feature.

Hope this helps.

Group forwarding after a delay

In memory block 4-1 for the extension's port, The Lkey for the CO line is lit green for immediate ringing, red for delayed ringing, and off for no ringing.

In memory block 1-1-77 you enter the CO's delayed ringing timer in seconds.

I wouldn't try and deal with seperating into tenants.

What I would suggest is in 4-19 restrict outbound trunk access (corresponding Lkey for CO line is lit to restrict)
For example:
Stations 1-4 would not be allowed to dial out on CO lines 5-6
Stations 5-6 would not be allowed to dial out on CO lines 1-4

This way Company A is not tying up Company B's CO lines for outbound calls and vice-versa.
