1996 GMC Sonoma acts like the carbuater is clogged

When I turn it over it acts like it is not getting gas. I put starter fluid in the carb to get started and that worked it ran fine on the road no skipping or sluggish but when I turned it off and tried to start again it did the same thing.

1996 GMC Sonoma Acceleration problem!

If the check engine light is on I would have that checked first. The trouble codes in the computer will help point you in the right direction for troubleshooting.
You could have a sticking fuel injector, or an ignition problem, or both.

My 1991 GMC Sonoma won't turn over. What are the possible reasons for this? It's getting fire, gas and compression. -JM

did you check your starter? solenoid fuse relay? if the engine dont turn over first start with starter thast the one responsible for the crank shaft to turn.

MY 1992 toyota celica acted like it was running out of gas and just quite and will not run agian. I have checked the fuel pump and the plugs are fireing. What else could be wrong?

could be alot of different things. try disconnecting the fuel line at the motor to see if you have fuel when the key is turned on. (put open end of line in a bottle preferrably clear to inspect for debris or water) If not replace fuel filter. could be a clogged catalytic converter, could be clogged injectors (if when you remove the fuel line at the motor there is fuel coming out when ignition is turned on) could be air filter is clogged. You can get rid of most of these without disconnecting anything by getting a can of choke and carb cleaner. Use it like you would starter fluid. (dont use starter fluid as it may lock up your motor) disconnect air filter and spray about a 2 second full spray into the air filter hose. have someone try to start the car. If it starts then you know its a fuel delivery problem and narrows it down for you.

Gmc sub wont start 1996

It sounds like the fuel pump. You may still be able to hear the pump, but it needs to produce a lot of pressure. If it is weak it won't do the job.

99 GMC sonoma will start with starting fluid then

The 99 GMC, when it acts up, check whether it has fuel and/or spark. It could be related to fuel pressure, available electrical power, ignition component/s.

Will not start

have you checked the fuel pump relay? usually that is the problem seeing is that it fires when you use the starting fluid.
