Resetting tomtom I pushed the reset button & lost all my information & settings. How do I retrieve this stuff? I have Tomtom one3rd edition.

Best to reset to factory settings and then reconfigure the unit as per instructions in the attached manual. All the maps and data will be lost and you will have to re-install. So make sure you have access to the map files which can be reloaded after the settings are complete.

Installing TomTom HOME
Install TomTom HOME on your computer in the following way.

• Connect your computer to the Internet and then connect your TomTom ONE to your computer using the USB cable.
• A pop-up window appears. Select Run TomTom HOME. Click OK and follow the on-screen instructions.
• If the pop-up window does not appear, browse to the TomTom device on your computer and run the file named Install TomTom HOME.
• TomTom HOME is also available for download from the TomTom website.
• For more information visit www.tomtom.com/home
• Once installed, TomTom HOME will start automatically whenever you connectyour TomTom to your computer.

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:

1. Check that the battery is charged properly.

2. Remove the SD card
   If your device uses an SD card, remove it.
   
   
3. Reset your device.
   Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.
   
   
4. Turn your device on.

5. Insert the SD card
   If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

I did a hard reset (hit the reset button on the bottom with the power on) and the sound was restored when I powered it up. No settings or favorites were lost.
