Have you tried using an disc optical lens cleaner? Try that first. Unfortunately, these things do just quit sometimes, just like Hard Drives. You may have to just resort to using external usb drive or replace the internal drive.

My dvd-rom doesn't read any dvd

Put in an ordinary CD and play to notice if the CD is detected or is trying to read- you can hear spinning noise. If so but there is no files read then the possibility that the laser head can be defective or dirty.
It is ideal to clean manually the laser head eye using a cotton bud with gentle pressure on the lens eye.
If drive does not work try reinstalling the drivers.

If this wont work the drive can be faulty and needs a replacement.

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your Sony VAIO laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.
