SOURCE: Sherwood rv 6030r does not turn on.

Try these simple trick to find out yor remote control working or not....
Point the remote control towards the Camera of a Mobile Camera phone, with the camera on. While pressing remote, we can see a light (Infra Red) coming from its IR LED through the Mobile Camera if the Remote is working.
If the remote is OK, then the problem with the Remote Sensor or related components of the receiver.

SOURCE: Sherwood model RV 5050r - tuner is not holding

Try looking for one of these Memory Retention Capacitors, they cause a lot of trouble like that. It will be in the tuner section somewhere if it uses one. It could look a bit different to this one, so bare that in mind.

SOURCE: Sherwood RV-4050R compatible with new gear?

The TV is irrelevant.

BD would need HDMI, digital audio or 5.1 analog inputs on the contol receiver. You have none of these.

I have a hi fi system of separate components - amp/receiver, cd player. Occasionally when listening to either radio or cd a pop or bang (a bit like a gunshot) is heard and the amp switches off. Is the...

Make sure the speaker wires are not touching at the back of the receiver or at the speakers. Make sue the cable(s) connecting the two is not damaged or shorted. If the wires are ok then the amp/receiver is the problem. Possible bad capicitors are the problem in the amp.

Fuse keeps blowing on my Sherwood RV-5050R Receiver

Disconnect all speakers at the receiver, then replace the fuse and check power again. If your lucky, it will be ok. More than likely though, the power transformer and capacitors have been shorted by a voltage spike or drop. If you don't have a good line conditioning surge like a Panamax, APC, or Furman, get one! it will save you $$$ and aggravation in the long run. Hope this helps.
