No volume and tried fn and f10 what other ideas?

Try control panel, go to sound see if there are some answers there. If not try the troubleshooting, or the System to see if there is a yellow explanation symbol that indicated a problem with the driver or the device itself. Possibly has been disabled or uninstalled. There may be other troubleshooters.

I would advise calling ASUS Support directly for additional assistance. It sounds like there's a hardware malfunction, which may require your tablet to be repaired.

A User Manual can be found here: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&s=299&m=A53E&os=30&hashedid=pNhYyNnFj0hhaQb2, I'll assume you have Win 7, you didn't mention, go to the Tray Notification Area, right click on the Network Icon, Open Network and Sharing Center, click on Change Network Settings, Is your Wired or Wireless Adapter enabled? Take a look at this: http://support.asus.com/Troubleshooting/detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=A53E&s=299&hashedid=pNhYyNnFj0hhaQb2&os=&no=1715 AND THIS: http://support.asus.com/Troubleshooting/detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=A53E&s=299&hashedid=pNhYyNnFj0hhaQb2&os=&no=1712

Sounds like an external PCMCIA wireless card issue. If so, maybe the Buffalo wireless software? DLink seems to have those issues. Different card?

You might need the drivers for you system. Here is their support center's website:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Here, at their main page, you can find troubleshooting support:
http://support.asus.com/
They also can provide the support for your sound card, in case the drivers don't help.
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps.
