Try going into sound select and test reinstall driver off Asus website..if you installed new windows or update drivers may not work right...see if you can roll back driver in device manager ..if not lookup your laptop model and reinstall...

I would advise calling ASUS Support directly for additional assistance. It sounds like there's a hardware malfunction, which may require your tablet to be repaired.
Right click on your speaker icon, click on volume mixer, check the slider, should be right up, also check recording and playback, if not working, you can troubleshoot sound problems, you can try this out.
