I was able to save a service call by doing the following in under 8 minutes:
1.Switch off electric to pump.
2. Turn off valve on supply side of pump so water does not flow during this procedure.
3. Turn offf filter.
4. Unbolt the six bolts (1/2" socket) on the front side of the pump.
5. Carefully separate the pump from the front panel which contained the six bolts.
6. Grasp with both hands the black round thin disk (impeller) which is part of the pump and turn it either clockwise or counter clockwise. It may be slightly difficult initially but once it it freed it will move easily.
7. Reassemble.
8. Open valve and turn on filter and the power to booster pump.
Any questions e-mail me at [email protected] good luck

Booster pump cracked

Lock the end of the shaft opposite the pump and then turn of the impeller counter clockwise looking at the pump. The remainder is simple nuts and bolts.

My pb4 booster pump is leaking from the booster pump bracket and making a ''whining'' noise when turned on????

Replacing the pumps mechanical seal should fix the leak. The whinning may be from bearing damage due to the leak. If you are unsure how to fix it, try a local electric motor repair shop. We charge about $55 - $60 for that seal and bearings installed.

Pump seems to running but the water pressure going to polaris does not change when you turn Pump on or off. Polaris is not performing as usual. Is there a way to check if pump is actually pumping the...

Disconnect the hose from the wall and with your hand fell how much pressure you have. It's possible you have an air lock. With the hose off the top fitting of the booster pump and the hose pointing away from you and electrical turn pump on and see what kind of pressure. This will also clear the air.

My polaris booster pump will not come on. when i turn it on the motor makes a humming noise but wont start

Does it have a century motor? If so, remove the shaft cover plate at the rear and try rotating the shaft with a very thick slotted screwdriver or substitute until it turns fairly easily. Often some mild oxide develops around components that just needs to be disturbed.
