SOURCE: Amana BX22A2W - freezer works, fridge not cooling

Same problem here with an Amana refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. I removed the back panels and vacuumed dust and cat hair out. The back panel in the freezer was frosted over with ice on the bottom. I removed the shelves and food and used a hairdryer to loosen the panel. The ice maker made it harder to remove the plastic panel so I pulled it back and saw the cooling fins frozen solid. I used the hairdryer to melt the ice and a shop vacuum to collect the water. It works like new again.

Water on floor - french door refrigerator with freezer below

Yes the bottom compartment does have a drain opening but to see it you will need to remove the rear panel covering the evaporator inside the back wall of the freezer compartment. See item location number 11 on page 3 of the parts list. That will need to be removed so you can reach the drain inside the freezer compartment. The fresh food section also has a drain. Here is a=> AFF2534FEB4 Parts List and AFF2534FEB4 User Manual I am here to answer any questions you may have, Thanks Sea Breeze

Where is the drain located in the amana refrigerator that empties the water into the bottom drain pan? ModelTC20E-L Amana frigerator

Good day,
In the freezer compartment, after you remove the rear panel, you will see the cooling (evaporator) coil. There is an aluminum pan directly below the coil. The drain hole would be obvious unless it is iced over, in which case you would need to melt the ice out.

It is connected to the drain hose which you can see by removing the back bottom cover of the machine that houses the compressor. If open and working properly, the hose carries the water to the drain pan which allowsit to evaporate.

If the freezer has an ice maker, it will have to be removed first. In addition any support brackets if they prevent the removal of the rear panel.

I'm getting water coming from the vents inside the refrigerator TR18MW. How do I dis assemble the area between the freezer and refrigerator compartment?

Today, after removing the freezer and fresh food compartment doors. I removed the back panel in the freezer. I then took a rubber mallet and started to bang the inside front edge of the plastic freezer floor until I could reach my hand at the back of the freezer floor and wiggle it forward. Once I removed the freezer floor I removed the ice that built up behind the foam panel. I then cleared the drain hole at the back which was caked with Ice and other garbage. I put it all back together and now it is fine.

I have an Amana bottom freezer, model BX20S5E that is not cooling properly in either compartment. I have replaced both the defrost thermostat and defrost timer (new). Still no change... what I do notice is...

check door gaskets and see if problem is moisture,or air gate to fridge compartment not working properly.I would recomend verifying defrost cycle is working by turing defrost timer to defrost cycle,it will click when engaged when unit is frozen and heater should come on if all is well,if not heater is probably culpret if the rest is new.

Amana French Door Refrigerator "on" but no cooling; freezer still works

There are 2 possible problems. One is the defrost cycle is not working properly this is usually indicated by a large amount of frost on the back freezer panel. If so, the circuit will have to be repaired and the evaperator thawed to remove the ice build up. The other is the fresh food damper is not working properly this is behind the "lump" in the back of the fridge compartment above the top shelf, remove the louver panel to see if it is open or closed. closed will be warm open should be cold. The water dispenser reservoir is probably frozen due to poor air circulation.
