Display malfunctions/no working functions

I have an alpine 9833 that i got from a freind, i am familiar with car stereos and wired it up with the appropriate wiring harness. when it turns on the alpine just spasms like it is trying to do the introduction but keeeps flashing int, intro, introd, in, int, etc. none of the buttons can make it do anything. any thoughts?

Remote turn on lead shorted to audio intterupt lead? I would just hook up power and ground to the 9833 and see if problem goes away. If not is must be internal to the 9833. If problem goes away i would double check wiring. Good luck that is a sweet cd player.

I need to know how to hook up an alpine CDA-9833 stereo into a 1993 dodge dakota without a wiring harness i just want to hook the wires together and i dont know which wire goes to the other all the colors...

If you go to Alpine's website (www.alpine-usa.com) and click on Support, one of the options is for Owners Manuals. You put in your model number and voila!

Alpine CDA-9833, how do you tune frequencies manually,

1 Press SOURCE/POWER until a radio frequencyappears in the display.
2 Press BAND/TEL. repeatedly until the desiredradio band is displayed.
FM1 FM2 AM FM1

3 Press TUNE/A.ME to select the tuning mode. (the play/pause
button above source/power)

Distance mode:
Both strong and weak stations will be automatically
tuned in
(Automatic Seek Tuning).
Local mode:Only strong stations will be automatically tuned in
(Automatic
Seek Tuning).
Manual mode:The frequency is manually tuned in steps
(Manual tuning).

select manual mode to tune it one by one.

Lost stereo front for cda 9833

You can try ebay.com if you lucky you can find it for very good price or go to pacparts.com,where you can buy it brand new

New car, no manual

There is no straigt forward bass and treble adjustment. You must adjust in either the (x-over) or (users EQ) function. It is a bit tedious but performs the bass and treble adjustments at multiple frequencies.

Cd plays, but no sound

Disconnect the blue wire from the back of the radio and connect the blue/white wire in its place. This should fix your problem.
