i have an alpine 9833 that i got from a freind, i am familiar with car stereos and wired it up with the appropriate wiring harness. when it turns on the alpine just spasms like it is trying to do the introduction but keeeps flashing int, intro, introd, in, int, etc. none of the buttons can make it do anything. any thoughts?

Remote turn on lead shorted to audio intterupt lead? I would just hook up power and ground to the 9833 and see if problem goes away. If not is must be internal to the 9833. If problem goes away i would double check wiring. Good luck that is a sweet cd player.
