Hi,
You need to physically check inside your PC case to determine what kind of sound card your system has.
Then go to the manufacturers website and download the necessary software to get your sound working.
Feel free to message me for further info concerning the above.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

No sound coming out of speakers tuner or cat/tv

Please add details of setup so I can help you. For example. My Directv box hooks into my HDTV HDMI. Sound is carried inside that cable. I then get sound on my TV from my Directv RCVR without any other hookup. But I do have more. I use an optical cable to go into my Denon 1312 TV/optical input. Since my Wii, PS3, VCR, and formerly Xbox360 all plug into the HDTV inputs and I use it to switch. The Denon is not HDMI capable so this is best for me.

This is the first thing I would try. hook the HDMI to your HDTV from the CATV/SAT box and turn up the sound on the TV. [Box and TV on and correct input used] If you hear audio, the hook it back up as before. Now, turn on the Denon to radio. and turn it up. Got sound?
NO: check speakers and speaker setting. Let's say you have speakers hooked to A but not B. is the selector on B or AB. That won't work. It has to match the hookup. If speakers are on A only, select A only, etc. Also check with known good speakers. Also check all cables to be plugged into the correct spot and plugged in fully.
Thanks PM me if you need more help.

My sound card isn't working and I have installed drivers now with speakers hooked up it tells me they are unplugged

Test sound via headphones to isolate problem. The green input is for speakers. Some cards will also allow you to change input / output, but this is dependent on their software.

VSB200 sound bar. When background music comes on, the music overtakes the speaking voices, requiring me to turn the sound down (to lessen the music) so I can hear the speakers. In a movies, with lots of...

It sounds like you left the tv set's internal speakers on after hooking up the sound bar.You should turn off your internal speakers via the Menu on the on screen display and go to audio. There you should find something about the speakers (on/off). Turn off your internal speakers and enjoy the sound bars great sound.

My logitech x140 speakers are very quite even with the volume on my speakers and pc turned right up i am barely able to hear the music/game etc

Go into the Volume Panel, then check whether "Wave" is all the way up - if it's not, turn it up, and the sound will become much louder. :D

Sound on DVDs

It sounds like she has the player set to output 5.1 surround sound, but only has left and right channel speakers hooked up. Either change the dvd player to only send two channels or hook up a center channel speaker.

I have no sound on my desk top computer. When I am in sound and audio devices the windows are gray and I can not clik into the Advance dialogue box.

It might be a sound drivers problem, sometime windows XP or Vista does not install the sound drivers automatically , you need to place the installation CD which you get along with the motherboard and install the sound drivers

No dialog sound when watching DVD's

The problem is that your center channel is not functioning correctly.  Dialogue is typically routed to the center channel only in 5.1, so if you don't have a working center channel all you will get is sound FX and background sound.
Go through all your settings, verify that they are correct.  Verify that your center channel is working properly, and wired to the correct output.
Test the center channel speaker and I feel confident you will find something amiss.

Dialogue - Not Audible

The dialogue comes from the center speaker. If you have a center speaker make sure that that it is connected correctly. If it is them check the speaker configuration setup menu. Make sure that the center channel is set to small. If it is set to none you will get no dialogue. If you don't have one make sure that it is set to none. Make sure that you have the speaker levels set correctly according to the manual. Lastly check the tweeter in your center channel is not blown.
