Apple no longer sells 10.6 directly. You will need to purchase a copy from a 3rd party. Search places like Amazon and eBay for starters.

Download installation cd

As far as I know, there are no legitimate download sites for the Mac OS 10.x installer. For your computer, you'd want an OS 10.5 installation disk set. You can find them on eBay for about $50 or so.

Hi Bobby
You will need to get an OS X installation DVD. Try eBay.Don't go for anything lower than 10.4 (Tiger)10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) should run fine on this machine.Don't bother with 10.7 or 10.8

Upgraded eMAC G4 to OS 10 and have display problem

You SHOULD be able to control the monitor adjustments in os 10. In the Displays section of the System Preferences, look for the "geometry" tab. Under this tab you should be able to control width and height so your display fills the entire screen.
If you still can't find it, try adjusting the resolution and refresh rates. Also use the "detect displays" button.

Here is the guide from macrumors.com personally I recommend the vlc player. I have OS 10 and it works great. Your problem stems from the fact that OS10 has no player that recognizes avi files. Quicktime won't play them. This guide will tell you everything you need to know. If you need more help just let me know.

If you need a newer version of Mac OS , you would have to purchase it. Mac OS does not update from 9.1 to 10.X
Mac 9.1 is about 10 years old.

In May 2002, at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, California, Steve Jobs, accompanied by a coffin, held a mock funeral[5] to announce that Apple had stopped development of Mac OS 9. Mac OS 9.2.2, introduced in December 2001, was the final version of Mac OS 9, and the end of the classic Mac OS.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
