Am I correct in assuming that you have an electric roof? I recently saw in my manual that there is a hydraulic lift that you can access from the trunk of the car. It looks like it is on the left side wall close to the opening. The following is taken directly from the manual:
"If the power system is not operating properly you can still close the roof by hand. 1. Remove protective cover and open luggage compartment lid. 2. Turn screw on hydraulic pump counterclockwise until it stops. 3. Close the luggage compartment lid. 4. Swing the top forward by grabbing it with both hands, lift and push it forward. 5. Lock roof in place. 6. Turn the screw on hydraulic pump clockwise until it stops. Use the same procedure in reverse order to open the power roof manually."

How to hotwire my vw 2001 Cabrio

In order to hot wire your Cabrio, you'll have to remove covers to your ignition switch and around the steering column. If you are doing then, you're better off just replace the ignition switch.

Might help if you share as mush information as possible, as to what your problem is and what you have done so far to correct the problem.

I need to remove the rear seat drivers side interior panel on a 2001 VW Cabrio to replace a hydraulic line for the convertible top. I have already removed the rear seat bottom cushion, the two screws on...

There are clips around the edges that have to be pried off. You use the trim tool to feel for them. when you find one, place the edges of the tool around the outside of the clip and pry it up. Get a trim removal tool from a parts store and ease them out, then the panel will be loose. Remember to take out the screws for the arm rest. Good luck.

HOW TO REMOVE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY ON A 2001

The front grill and bumper has to be removed to reveal the 2 lower screws holding each lamp assembly. Removal of the hood latch is simple, just don't over do when you spread the plastic link cause it would break sometime. Do not loose the pivot pin and the locking clip of the plastic link to the latch handle. The front grill needs to be poke with a flathead screw driver on top to release it. Hopes this helps cause it really is just simple common sense to figure out.

1999 vw cabrio convertible top doesn't works

You have to put hydraulic fluid (power steering fluid will work too) in the convertible top motor. The motor is in the trunk, on the left hand side, under a panel. Pull the panel off and that is the electric motor for the top. You'll see a reservoir where you put in the fluid. Put in the fluid and you'll be good to go.

Back window of VW Cabrio 2001 is broken/ Need replacement

Look for a junkyard around that sells the window or buy one online for dirt cheap and then put it in yourself. It is not that hard just time consuming.

How to change a burned head light on a 2000 vw cabrio?

Changing headlights on VW Cabrio I just changed the headlights on my roommate's 2002 Cabrio, but I followed the instructions given for a 2001. What you have to do is: 1. Move the metal wire holding the black cover to the side and remove the black cover. 2. Remove the power cord from the bulb itself and push to the side. 3. You will see a pin holding the headlight in. Squeeze the pin (you want to squeeze closer to the top of the pin, which is the closed end; don't squeeze the open ends because all you will do is get irritated and hurt your fingers), then push it back and down. What this will do is move the pin away and then out from those little metal tabs that its going through. One side will pop out, then the other. When you get it out, the pin should be standing up, with the closed end pointing up. You can then remove the bulb and replace. Popping the pin back in is a heck of a lot easier than getting it out! I was able to remove the cover, but I got totally stumped on the pin. I hope this helps you out, it may be a little confusing but its kind of difficult to describe. Maybe this will at least point you in the right direction!
