Hi names Rui, actual it does happen often that it hangs up i suggest you DL the latest ver. of yahoo msgr and try installing it if it still hangs up restart your PC then try again.

You have to upgrade your yahoo messenger.

Uninstall completely your yahoo messenger. after uninstall clean your registry for errors
or
1. simply Go to Start > Run and type “regedit” on the box

1. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Yahoo
2. Right click the Yahoo folder and DELETE Yahoo Folder
3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Yahoo
4. Right click the Yahoo folder and DELETE Yahoo Folder

2. Reinstall the Yahoo Messenger.

Which version of Yahoo Msgr you are using. Is it version 10. Ofcourse it should have a video call facility and this requires a good bandwidth, recomended Broadband connection. If you have any problem with the bandwidth the msgr would hang. Else it could be an issue of a spyware, malware of any virus program running. A virus program can capabily run another service thread in the kernal when you start your yahoo features thus making the system go hung or the application itself. Check for such programs using a good Antivirus.
