DIGITAL S METER READING TOO HIGH WHAT VR POT TO ADJUST

did you use a meter when you set the pot? there are two pots to adjust . one for high modulation and they other for low modulation . Apparently you didn't read the schematic good enough.

hi, sadly you can't in most cases, the speed pot is the way to adjust the overall speed ,

You can fit a larger value speed pot hence slowing the scooter down on the lowest setting ...

if you mean the centre location of the throttle pot you must get the slot dead centre to you( meter reading of about 2.5K ) ...when you 're sitting on the scooter...

VR 2 is the pot you are looking for an now you need a modulation meter. Speak into the mic at the volume you will be talking on the radio. One one one one while adjusting for 100 percent anymore an you will begin distorting.

you are not matching it correctly. get hold of a friend that knows how to match it and see if he will help you.

AM CARRIER POWER HIGH: VR-13 pot. for RF power adjust

AM CARRIER POWER LOW: VR-16 rf power adjust

no matter what s/rf you are looking at it should not key much beyond an s-9 . vr 3 controls the meter. Key the mic and adjust it to s-9 then check you modulation.If you still think you need more then adjust vr 4 .

Symptom:Buzzing or motorboating sound in either the transmit or receive.
Problem: TR602 is oscillating
Cure: Replace C602 with a .01uF cap {Cap is located in the power supply board}.
RG 66,99,DX2517 Replace Q54 2SB754 60watt 7A with a higher power 2SB817 100 Watt 12A. Derating of this component will cool operation, provide better voltage stability,decrease wobble, allow voltage increase to 14.5 volts comfortably. (replace 10 volt caps in this section of the radio to a minimum of 16 volts before increasing supply voltage to this level)and provide faster swing rise time, Replace Q37 2SA473 to a 2SA1012-0 or ECG153 this will improve the clarity and volume of the modulation and it will also run a lot cooler.

You have to adjust the high key first so make sure you're rf power is on high, hope you have a meter set it on the 20 watt scale, key up and turn vr 13
located in back of radio infront of where you're coax connector is until it keys around 12 watts, thats where most connex 33hp should be set,now go to low power and key adjust vr 16 right net to the otherone down to about 3 watts, now you can drive a liners. Mod is Vr 2 right below them two. whistle in mic and turn to get the mod you want.

vr2 is the transmitt signal potentiometer for the meter adjustment during keyup try turning it while keying but use something nonconductive to do so or you could short it..be carefull
