This message is displayed when the buttonhole lever is up, a buttonhole stitch is selected, and a button, such as the "Start/Stop" button, is pressed.

clearing the error may not fix the fault
Press the *with a circle around it then press 2 and 8 at the same time then press *again /press copier touch button/function/clear/error/ok button then switch off m/c on hope it works

I got the same error message and it was a conflict with the last comments gadget, when I removed it it all came back to normal.
