SOURCE: CMOS Battery do no work

Just change your CMOS battery with a new one and after that goto the bios settings and update the time and dare.
After that just save the settings and then check that the warning message is coming or not.

If its coming then it means you need to change the CMOS jumper settings.

Cmos setting not saved

Look at the CMOS reset jumper, located near the battery:
86f0a83.gif
For normal operation there should be a cap shorting pins 1 and 2.
Set the jumper correctly, make sure it really shorts these two pins (once I've seen a jumper cap that didn't have the metal connector inside, only plastic), replace the battery and it should keep the CMOS settings.

6U214 Motherboard Failure??

1. try clearing your bios setup using the jumper provided on your motherboard. make sure that the computer is shutdown and power cable unplugged before doing this. make the jumper settings and wait for 3 to 5 minutes before returning the jumper settings back to its normal position.to locate the bios clear jumper; it's always near the cmos battery of the mainboard. after doing so, plug back your power cable and power "on" your computer. select bios or cmos default settings when you are prompted. save your settings and restart your computer.

or

2. or try flashing your motherboard again using the latest bios file available for your board downloaded from dell website. and select to bios or cmos default settings when you are prompted. save your settings and restart your computer.

Jumper settings

There is no jumper settings, it is just a small bridge aside the bios Chip. you bridge the two pins and power to reset cmos.

A much easier way is removing the Cmos coin shaped battery from motherboar for few seconds, and put it back, this will reset Cmos the same .

Always f2

If I understand correctly your saying when you exit the cmos, id doesn't save your changes. Make sure when you exit you select the option to save and exit. If that doesn't work, your cmos battery is dead. Look in the mobo manual to find out what replacement battery you need.

VGA card

This is the best thing you can do, reset the the CMOS setup by removing the battery, and the jumper switch to clear CMOS and then power ON and OFF the computer, return back the battery and also the clear CMOS jumper on its original settings.. and then your done. Power ON the Computer..

Note: the clear CMOS jumper can be seen always near the battery or in the lower right part of the motherboard. it has has 3 pin and the default setting is must be 1 , 2 and the pin 3 , 4 is also for clearing the CMOS. ü
