Ectaco p900 will not shut off - Cell Phones

Please try the following:
1) Remove the battery from the bottom of the unit. The battery panel is under the device.This can be done with a small screwdriver. Disconnect the white plug from the jack inside.
2) Leave the battery out for at least 15 minutes and press the power button to completely drain the unit of power..
3) Replace the battery, it should sort of click back in place so you know it is actually in.
4) Try to turn the unit on and off, to see if it responds correctly.

My Partner P900 series is completely separate from he computer. You can only connect the two to add movies or music onto the partner. I think that was the idea Ectaco was going with, it is a self sufficient language device.

SE P900 does not support memory stick pro duo. it' s only support MEMORY STICK DUO (w/o PRO). i have the same problem too. my p900 only live with 32MB MS DUO and there are no more MS DUO in my city (even SE's service center)
if you wanna use your MS DUO PRO, then you'll need to upgade to P990i or P1i. that's much better then P900i (newer OS, more ROM, new keypad, plus WiFi) :D

Ectaco is adamant that all repairs must be sent directly to them. They do not authorize anyone else to perform repairs.

As a result, no one else can obtain parts or service manuals to repair these devices. So there are no other options for repair worldwide- only shipping the unit to Ectaco's Service Center in the United States (and only if it is under warranty).

You could try posting your problem on the Ectaco User Forum to see if any other users of this translator have a solution.

You will see many other users on the forum that are in your same situation, and most of them are equally frustrated.

Though I have not been able to personally fix your problem, I hope the information provided will be helpful in some way.

Unfortunately the PC Suite that is compatible with the P900 is not compatible with Vista. There is no solution unless SE decides to release a Vista compatible version. Sorry...
