2002 nissan sentra se-r 1.8 liter ticking noise from front, loss of power in acceleration between 35-45 mph and uphill, "pop" noise when decelerating between 2000-1500 rpm. 145,000 miles, mostly highway. recently replaced muffler nad exhaust hangers. also headlights low and high beams won't work, but emergency flashers, parking lights and brake lights are fine. fuses are all ok.

I had a Nissan that started a ticking noise at the front, soon after the timing belt broke. The timing belt should be changed before 100,000 miles All Nissan engines are interference, meaning when the belt breaks valves get bent.

Check for vaccume leaks and also you PCV valve. check the hose too. Visually inspect every vaccume hose you can find. Sounds like a leak .

had the same problem on my 92....check under the hood on the drivers side, towards the front, there is a "junction box" with all of the lighting wires connecting from the switches to the lights. My wires were all corroded inside,so I cleaned the ends and bought a new box from the local electronic supply store. The problem has not come back.

What is the drive cycle for a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE?

Take extra caution while performing dirve cycles on public roadways. Drive cycles can be difficult to follow under normal driving conditions. Begin by: - Start the engine. Idle the engine in drive for two and a half minutes with the A/C and rear defroster on. - Turn the A/C and rear defrost off, and accelerate to 55 mph at half throttle. - Hold at a steady speed of 55 mph for three minutes. - Decelerate (coast down) to 20 mph without braking or depressing the clutch. - Accelerate back to 55 to 60 mph at ¾ throttle. - Hold at a steady speed of 55 to 60 mph for five minutes. - Decelerate (coast down) to a stop without braking. If all other emissions systems are functioning properly, completing the drive cycle above will set the "readiness flags" required to pass the smog check. It will not hurt to perform the drive cycle 2 or 3 times before the smog test.

Wheel nuts loose, or stones in hub caps, do you get the noise rolling down hill ? , if not its engine, retrace your repair.
