Can you help with a 2006 heritage springer, 88c, I did my own 10,000 mile oil change, crank, and trani. The fluid level in the oil tank is well above the add level. Dealer gave me all required oil and instructions but level is still high. Do I need to run it, then check when hot? How much goes in the oil tank? Will it hurt the bike? Dealer said 3 1/3. Going for a ride later, Please help.

Did you turn engine over coupla times to completely drain bike whilst emptying with drain plug out and lid off tank? If not you run risk of partial retainment in oil cooler and engine. While refilling it pays to half fill then turn engine over few times to flush oil through before topping off. How much oil came out when you drained? Yes, your bike should take about 3 1/4 Litres to fill from completely drained.

Dealer's usually tell you the amount you need if the bike is completely empty. Take a turkey baster and remove some oil, ride the bike and check the oil level again. I have seen to much oil blow the dip stick out and cover everything with oil and I have seen the oil tank split.

How do you check and add transmition fluid on a 2006 VW Passat

The best way is on a lift, the engine must be warm and car level, with the motor running remove the plug on the bottom of the trany pan, oil should leak out a little, this means its full if not then on top side of trany remove the fill pull cap and add from there until it starts to run out of the plug, theres a long tube in the pan and oil will only run out when level is higher than the tube. hope this helps.f781d2f.png75884bb.png1d36d6b.png

Should i change my transmission fluid, i heard it could damage it and cause it to go out?

its a 1999, have a bg trany flush done, this is done with a cleaner added to fluid, then a machine is used, it hoohs up to line of trany, it then flushes out 100% of the old fluid, this is the best way, also trany oil should be changed every 30,000 miles.hope this is helpful, also check out there website,@ www.bg.com for more info.

When I hit the gas, my engines hesitates and the rpms go up, btu I dont move, is this a bad trains?

Could be, how is the trani fluid level and color? Trani fluid should be changed every 20k miles. Was the trani fluid serviced recently, if so can you verify that the correct trani fluid type was used?

Tune up check list for 59000 miles

Here is the check list. This should also be in your owners manual.

Inspect Brakes and Traction Control
Drive Belt

Fluid - Differential
Inspect front/rear axle fluid level and add fluid as needed. Inspect constant velocity joints and axle seals for leaking. Replace Engine Oil

Change engine oil and filter as indicated by the GM Oil Life System (or every 12 months, whichever occurs first). Reset the indicator. Never drive the vehicle more than 16 000 km (10,000 miles) without and oil and filter change. The system will not detect dust in the oil. If the vehicle is driven in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil every 5 000 km (3,000 miles) or sooner. Fuel Filter
