Hi Vina,
Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue!
** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again.
Hopefully that helped you out!!
Happy Sewing!!
Kathy
The direct number to Euro-Pro's sewing machine phone reps is 1-800-361-4639. I've read of other people calling and Euro-Pro sends the parts they need (no charge).
I've been searching for two days for the bulb replacement in my mother's 9110 sewing machine...needs a 240mW led lamp which the manual says 'not user replaceable'. I called the 800 # for Euro-Pro and the recording referred me to 1-800-361-4639 for Euro-Pro sewing machines. The rep I spoke with knew immediately the lamp needed (must get a lot of calls for this). The total cost including shipping was $31.90 and is shipped from CA. She said it is 2-4 wk delivery, but could come in as little as 2 days. I just ordered it today, so hopefully I will receive it soon and it will be what I need...it looks simple enough to replace, so don't know why they say it isn't user replaceable.
In order to see whether or not my euro-pro 9110 had a timing issue, the service rep had me change out the needle (making sure I was using anything but a Singer brand needle--they do not work in these machines). I re-threaded the needle, took out the bobbin casing and the plastic ring encasing the bobbin, then lowered the needle to see if the hook on the metal ring holding the bobbin actually catches the thread on its own. If it doesn't catch, it's a timing issue and needs repair. They can walk you through this process of troubleshooting and set up repair if need.
