If your Dalton Primechair is not receiving power from the control arm, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
Check Power Source:
Make sure the chair is plugged into a working power outlet.
Check the power cord and ensure it is securely connected to both the chair and the electrical outlet.
Power Switch:
Verify that the power switch on the control arm is in the "ON" position.
If there is a separate power switch on the chair's body, ensure it is also turned on.
Batteries (If Applicable):
If the chair uses batteries, check if they are properly installed and functional. Replace the batteries if necessary.
Remote Control (If Applicable):
If the chair comes with a remote control, ensure that the batteries are installed correctly and that the remote is functioning.
Fuse:
Check if there is a fuse in the power supply line or within the control arm. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same type and rating.
Wiring Connections:
Inspect the wiring connections from the control arm to the chair. Look for any loose or disconnected wires. Reconnect any loose wires securely.
Faulty Control Arm or Power Supply:
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a fault in the control arm or the power supply system. Contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They may provide guidance on troubleshooting or recommend professional service.
User Manual:
Refer to the user manual for troubleshooting tips and specific instructions related to the Dalton Primechair.
If you are unable to resolve the issue with these steps, it's advisable to seek assistance from the manufacturer's customer support or contact a professional technician who is familiar with the specific model of your chair.
Whenever you need to charge your power chair or scooter get into the habit of charging overnight. The battery level indicator lights will tell you if your chair or scooter needs charging. Whenever the lights are down into the yellow and especially if they are in the red. If you have the off-board charger, plug the charger into the charger port in the front of your joystick and then plug the charger into the wall socket or turn the on/off switch on and let it charge overnight. When you get up in the morning the charger should have a red light(power) and a green light illuminated (indicating fully charged) Always turn the charger off or unplug it from the wall socket before you unplug it from the chair or scooter. Never have the power on to the charger when you plug or unplug it from your chair or scooter. Whenever you get new batteries always give your batteries a full charge before use and then if you use the chair daily charge it every night. If you do not use your chair or scooter daily charge it at least once a week. Never leave the charger plugged in and on for more than 24 hours. Your batteries should last you 3-4 years if you charge them correctly.
Joe See my tips on charging batteries No you don't have to leave the chair on when charging. Charge overnite after using it during the day. Always have the charger off when plugging it into the chair and unplugging from the chair. The charger you have doesn't have an on/off switch so get a power strip with the on/off switch, plug that into the wall and plug your charger into the strip use the switch on the strip to turn the charger on and off this will save you having to plug and unplug the charger rom the wall. Always store or put the chair up fully charged. If you don't use the cair daily charge at least once a week. It takes 9-10 chargings to get the batteries operating at 100% so use the chair and charge overnight while you sleep Never leave the charger on the chair more than 12 hours Hope this helps you
Eduardo After using your chair and the battery level lights are down with yellow or red lights showing just plug the chair into the wall socket and let er rip. Now really after using your chair during the day and you are ready for bed just plug in the charger and let it charge over night. In the morning unplug the charger and you should be set for the day. If you don't use the chair everyday always put it up with a full charge and about once a week plug it in and let it charge overnight. Never leave the chair plugged in all the time and never leave it for more that 24 hours. The charger has two lights on it one red and one yellow or green that are hard to see because they are under the rear cover. When the chair is fully charged the yellow light turns green and you can unplug the charger and you should have a full charge. Hope this helps you
Jo, nope you are safe. Most of the chargers are designed to cut off and go into trickle charge once they sense that the batteries are fully charged. The problem with overcharging comes after 18 hours or so. You should never leave the charger plugged into the chair for more than 24 hours. On the M51 the charger is built into the chair so just plug it in when you go to bed and unplug it when you get up and you'll be ok. You can check for full charge by looking at the charger there should be a red light and a green light when fully charged. Hope this helps
Hello,
Chargers generally do not need to be reset. But in some cases if you may want it to start a Bulk charge.
If the charger is plugged in to the mains and ON, Then switch OFF and leave unplugged for 2 - 5mins.
Meanwhile Switch Jazzy ON and try and put some load on the batteries by taking it for a short but power consuming trip usually by going up hill.
Then plug charger in and switch on and the charger should initiate a full charge sequence.
Margie,
Yes you may charge it overnight. If you use it everyday, charge it every night. Once the charger senses 24 volts it stops sending a charge,so they cannot be overcharged. I suggest when you go to bed put on the charger and unplug it when you get up in the morning.
Make sure there is power at the outlet. Check the fuse panel. If there is still no power then check to make sure there is no GFI (ground fault interupt) switch on the chair itself. The GFI is a 2 button switch that will say "Reset" and "Test"
