How to fix the camera from showing grey and white vertical lines when turned on

Try a factory reset of your tablet first. Here is a link to the procedure:

Screen repair is a common fix. Check the yellow pages for a repair person or service. Depending on the damage the repair may not be worth the phone.

There are companies who will replace the screen for about the same price as a brand new Kindle BASIC. personally I would suggest:
- buy a new Kindle BASIC for 59gbp;
or
- download any of the FREE kindle apps and just finish your library reads for free whilst you look around for a replacement.

If you want a TABLET rather than a eReader remember ANY tablet will download the free Kindle app so you can read your books on a Fire or a ASUS or a NEXUS or a iPad or anything really :)

I have a nextbook premium 8 SE tablet. What ever screen I am in even when it is turning on it has two horizonial lines.

This is a hardware failure on the screen. The screen will need to be replaced. It is probably cheaper to get a new tablet.

you should just make someone fix it who are good with electronics

Try to hold the slide key for 15 sec. It will reboot your kindle. If black patch is not gone even after that, It's a hw issue. Screen might require to be changed. If it's in warranty Amazon will do it free. That's what i have heard.

I know this is an old post, but the LED code for CAPS lock on, F4 flashing, F5 on means memory issue. I had this issue, reseated the memory, and the issue was resolved.

Doesn't sound like a GPU as the external works . Could be screen or flex cable maybe ?
