You can download a software "Keytweak", which would help you in remapping the keys in the keyboard, so with the help of key tweak you can swap the Fn and the Ctrl Key.

Try a Know good keyboard, for testing...

You need to go back into CTRL Panel and set keyboard to ENGLISH US

this problem is not uncommon.
go in to control panel program then into keyboard settings and select your keyboard this should fix it for you .good luck

ctrl+x -> cut
ctrl+v -> Paste
ctrl+c -> copy

remove your RAM and processor.......then turn on ur PC...it will gave you different beeps...then again install ur RAM and processor... ur problem will solved

When one key stops working in a Keyboard there is dirt or some other obstruction between the contact layers and the board needs to be dismantled and cleaned or the contact layer has been broken and the keyboard will not respond to that key any more. The first is more likely unless the board has been really abused.

Is it just Dirty or actually broken? It may take dissasembly to determine whether it needs cleaning or not, another alternative is to assign Ctrl to another Key (Maybe F12) that you don't use a lot... C

I have an acer computer too. I had to press the (ctrl) (bottom left) and then the (Alt) botton (beside the space bar) and the number 2 at the same time to get back the @ sign then it should work normal from hear on in .
