You have the old school check engine light, which you turn your key without cranking fully on off three times it will give two digit codes separated by pause ending in five five meaning end of codes.

SOURCE: car has no spark or injector pulse(new ecm, crank sensor)

Check the fuse for the injectors, some vehicles have the injectors and coil running on the same circut, at the same time check the fuse for the ignition.

had same problem. neons are bad for the gas filler tube rusting out. there has to be pressure in the tank for the car to run.check and see if yours is rusted out or hole in it somewhere.

SOURCE: I have a 1999 dodge

could be crank sensor or possibly the auto shutdown relay. use a test light to check for voltage at the coil. Hook the test light clip to ground and back probe the dark green/orange stripe wire at the coil connector. With the key on, the light should light. If not, swap the relay with another similar one--say the horn relay and try again. If still no voltage, interrogate the relay socket per instructions here: http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check .
If there is power at the dark green wire, check the connector on the crankshaft sensor. I have pasted your wiring diagram as well as instructions for checking and replacing the cranks sensor below. Please let me know if you have questions.

Crankshaft Position Sensor TESTING On the 2.5L engine, the Crankshaft Position (CMK) sensor is located near the outer edge of the flywheel (or starter ring gear). On other models it is fitted to the right side of the engine block.
The only test you can perform without a DRBII scan tool, or equivalent, is a basic check of the sensor only.

  1. Disconnect the sensor harness connector from the main wire harness connector.
  2. Place an ohmmeter across terminals 1 and 2 (see the illustration). The meter reading should be open (infinite resistance). If a low resistance is read, replace the camshaft position sensor.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

All Except V-10 Engine

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly if necessary for access to the sensor.
  2. Disconnect the pigtail harness from the sensor.
  3. Remove the nut holding the sensor wire clip to the fuel rail mounting stud.
  4. Remove the sensor mounting hardware, then the sensor.
  5. Remove the clip from the sensor wire harness.

To install:
  1. Install the sensor flush against the opening.
  2. Install and tighten the bolts or nuts, as applicable.
  3. Install the electrical connector.
  4. Install the clip on the sensor wire harness.
  5. Install the clip over the fuel rail mounting stud. Install the clip mounting nut.

Hi all, 2002 neon Wil not start. problem.

ever see the car run good before, or just died dead? out of the blue?>
cranks ok or not. (grrrr grrrrr sound, or not)_ called cranking the crank shaft. fast.
cranks starter motor fast and not starting?
or never cranks the starter motor at all silent starter?????

2002 Dodge Neon, with secret motor under the hood.
2.0 liter engine, 132HP. or he 2.4L I an not guess engines ever
SOHC or DOHC engine were there, both an OPTION./
VIN F or VIN C engine they are not the same.
the twin cam engine DOHC is interference engine that must not be timed wrong ever. I'm told both are but my test is most strict ask.
"Power on no 1 and 2 coil plug wires but none on no 3"
does power mean HV spark or the primary side has power
yes it does if fuse is not blown, all fuses good is first. ok , all.
ASD sends 12vdc to the spark coils.

"Looks like it is one tooth out on timing.( the cam belt wrong?)
really? no engine PCM likes that, it can bend valves on some engines. never time a cam wrong .or boom happens.
the non COP engine (1 coil pack)
has just 1 coil pack with 4 HV terminals
there is no spark timing at all, (is cmp + ckp)_
cam wrong wrecks cam time and spark both.
CMP sensors and CKP sensors set spark timing, and are fixed in the case of crank. (the cam CMP sensor will be off if belt is timed wrong.
WASTED SPARK if you replaced the 4 spark wires 1 by 1,
there would be no mixup and spark would be good.
Coil No. 1 fires cylinders 1 and 4. Coil No. 2 fires cylinders Nos. 2 and 3.
if you mix up the 4 wires HV it will not run
mixing 1 to 4 works, but the wires are too short
mixing 2 and 3 works, same deal
mixing 1 to 2 or 4 to 3 is FAIL
see why> firing order wrong. PCM does the older not you.
if you wreck the order it will not run.
4COPS can mix all you what so there I did both engines

the cam belt is a 60,000 service, if skipped the DOHC blows up.
piston hits valves and boom valves bent and heads a train wreck from H3LL. and compression not 200psi but 5. BOOM.
never skip cam belt service, did you?
did you drive it till it DIED? not told
or just doing normal service now.?
history matters, next time ask for help before going broke on part not needed
btw the quad spark pack the best ones are marked clear as day
1,2,3,4 at HV terms
and engine is
cambelt 1,2,3,4 , trans.
to test for spark only unplug 1 plug or get wrong results on 4 in 1 pack.
the 4cop spark coils test them any why you want even all at once.

always assume interference or go broke fast
and some engine heads milled become interference and you can't know that standing far away 3 feet.
there are some DOHC engines that are free running
means cam stalled and crank spins and zero damage

if you bought a dead car(my act for years) we check compression first not buy tons of parts praying for a dead engine to run.
even engines on a pallet used. I test them.
time the cam per the service manual
if you'd tell what engine was there I'd post it.

note the better coil pack
to test # 2 or 3 both spark plugs 2 and 3 must be connected
and shells ground to the engine block or both fail.
and both spark wires can not be open, mag wire is best.
this is called wasted spark and is only 2 coils if you look closer

Why car my car start?

No spark? Then there is probably no signal to trigger the spark. Possible causes:
1) Cam position sensor.
2) Crank position sensor (you replaced it)
3) Coils (already replaced)
3) Wiring and connections to and from coils (bad grounding points or bad live feeds)

Suggestion: Stop the guessing and spending with "probable" causes. Have the car scannned for error codes and start from scratch according to error codes.

Autoshutdown keeps turning on

which engine???????????????????????????
ASD is tricky on jeeps.
The Auto shutdown,relay.
what is it , how does it works is covered in the fsm. read it.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service
The ECU runs this RELAY, and if the ECU sees a gross error
it shuts this down, and the schematic there is clear as to what.
both spark and fueling.
here is what can drop it out.
1: crank sensor.
2: cam sensors or TDC ,etc.
3: sees spark dead or weak.
4: Immobilizer active. (failed)

as the book says , make sure spark is good for the 2 seconds cranking. (not after the 2seconds)
the ECU is programmed like this.
user cranks.
ECU creates spark,, using the crank/cam sensors at the time base
for 2 seconds
if the spark read back fails or the 2 sensors fail, the ecu shuts DOWN.
this is for fire prevention.
most other cars just cut the injectors, but not jeep
the drop the MAIN ASD relay.

using the check engine light flash codes, you can see which of the
3 failed, cranking for 5 second and releasing the key on all cars.
1996 and newer a scan tool is use to same effects.

now the 64,000 dollar qustion,
see page 8w-30-4
why does the ASD KILL THE IGNITION coil. easy.
1: it only guess it 2 seconds to make spark
2: if it cant,. it then drops the relay. killing fuel too.
3: this prevents the the crash and burn you see on TV.

so its 2 second permissive system. (or 3?) i forget exact seconds, its in then book and is short.
many dont know this. but is a fact.

now the flash codes.
crank for 5 seconds while in flash code mode
see emmisions page for how.

flash code 11 drops the ASD ! (cam or crank sensor dead)
code 54 cam signal dead?
code 43, spark bad.

Car wont start

being 94' im sure it has high miles, cam and crank sensor common to fail over time do to wear and heat exposure. check the basic, make sure you getting fuel and sparks. fuel pump only work as long the engine is turning over due to the crank sensor sense the flywheel turning. crank sensor may be faulty. no sparks, check coil make sure is good and putting out 12v, auto zone can test it for free. good coil, than check cam sensor, cam sensor senses the cam turning and tell the ecu to tell the coil to disperse the sparks to the plugs. cam and crank sensors, there no way of testing it but replacing the unit unless you have the special equipment to test it; both is fairly cheap to replace, check ebay.

98 acura integra gs 1.8 4L getting no spark. i had autozone do a test on the coil. they said the coil was still good . then i put the coil back in and grounded a wire and had someone turn the engian and...

You could have a problem on the camshaft sensor. If the camshaft sensor is inop, you will not get any spark. The sensor tells the computer what timing is set at, so the coils fire properly. Check that first.
