It depends on how complex the board is. I have repaired many a board in my 40 years and they all worked perfectly. Power supplies are not that difficult as the circuits generally are pretty straightforward and not real complex. The board should be put together and epoxy applied to the component side then when it is cured the foils could be reconstructed or patched over with 30 gauge telephone type wire- thicker if the foil indicated the need for more current. If you can not do it see Skywave Tape deck Repair in Chicago.

Hi, i have a clock radio Phillips AJ3121 and the kids pulled the antenna out. I have opened it successfully but don't know where to attach the antenna wire to.

It should be soldered to the circuit board. Look for a spot of solder that has some wires in the solder, but not attaching anything to the board.

My cable port on back broke off, can't afford to pay for a service call. how can I fix it. is it easy or hard. please help.

It's real easy. Just turn it in for repair, and watch tv someplace else. Save up money, by the time you have it the tv might be fixed. If not, the repair shop will hold your tv and your money. You can make payments and stuff.

Broken antenna output jack broken--can this be repaired?

if the outer case says no user serviceable parts inside, I would speculate no...sometimes they solder these connections into the circuit board so you are better to get another box than fix the one you have..

The output jack is becoming loose and is breaking up the signal quite erratically!

The jack is LIKELY surface mounted on the circuit board and broken loose. Only thing is to take in for repair. Surface mount repairs are not for the unskilled DIY. It usually takes special tools to safely replace or re-attach the components.

My flash drive is broken.........the end is broken away from the circut board. Can it be repaired?

Only attempt this repair if you need the information on the USB drive as they are fairly delicate devices inside. You should be able to repair it if you have the right fine soldering iron and good soldering skills as the printed circuit board tracks will be very fine: you will probably need to very carefully re-attach the USB plug to the printed circuit board with strong epoxy glue and then ensure that you re-join (with the help of extremely thin electrical wire if require) all the tracks to the 4 USB pins. The Electronic is very static electricity sensitive, so make sure that you do not ZAP it by first earthing yourself! Hope it helps and Good luck!

Complicated Question about repairing circuit board

Broken LCD panel does not affect circuit board behind that panel.
Make sure that other TV should be same model (KDL-40W4100) to swap boards / LCD panel because each model has its special designed boards and cannot be used in different model (if chassis is same, few boards can be used)

Shutter button lost

Most shutter buttons are plastic discs attached to a spring-mounted plunger on a circuit board. You might be able to purchase a used as-is camera of the same type. Try taking the body halves apart carefully on the as-is camera, remove the shutter circuit and then carefully try to replace the shutter button circuit board on your broken camera. Or if that's too difficult, contact the manufacturer or any reputable repair shop and get a repair estimate on the camera. If the estimate falls above the value of a new camera - you decide. Hope this helps.

Headphones plug not working right. can hear only from one, even if connectec to speakers

That is a common problem with Mp3 players - unfortunately, no one that I know of yet has been successful in repairing this issue, b/c the manufacturers do not sell the component parts. I'm afraid this Mp3 player will have to be replaced, even though only the headphone jack and associated circuit are bad.

Standby Red Light Flashing

six flashes corresponds to "Horizontal deflection stop". In turn the "supposed malfunction" is then either Q5013 (H OUT) is broken and/or IC507 (H Jungle) is broken.
however i would check
Video out, IC7101, 7201, 7301 and others in C board circuit.
Q510, 516, 524 (A board).

There are actually three C boards, the CR, CG and CB boards. They are attached to the rear of the red, green and blue CRTs, respectively. I wouldnt attempt to repair the set myself. I would solicite the services of an authorized Sony servicenter.
