Both errors are related to the backup battery which is located under the main battery. It is probably dead. You can get one on eBay for $3.29 w/free shipping or pay a shop $20 to put one in. If you do it yourself be very gentle plugging it into the tricky little slot - it is possible to break the connector loose from the motherboard but it is an easy repair if you have patience and dexterity. As for the password, try just hitting enter. It is the supervisor password to change the BIOS settings and was probably never set.
Hope this helps.

you can go to the BIOS setting? if you can, look for "Boot Device Priority" or something like that,it's usually placed on Advanced settings. Set the first boot device as your harddisk, save the settings and restart your computer

I bet your hard drive crashed on you. You might have to buy yourself a new hard drive and replace your old one with it. Then format it and install a fresh copy of your Operating System on it. Your error condes here indicate to me that you either got a blue screen or similar. Blue Screens and/or the code that you stated here are usually caused by a software issue, and are rarely hardware issues. But in this case, you may have gotten something bad on your computer, such as a virus or serious spyware, that wiped out your Operating System And caused your hard drive to crash/become corrupt. As I mentioned, try replacing your hard drive. Hope this helps.

IBM Thinkpad T30 2367 beeps 8 times

Hi,
It's your memory, or more to the point, the memory slots. take all memory out, install 1 piece in the slot closest to the back of the laptop, push down on the memory as if pushing it into the motherboard, and hold pressure while booting.
Bet that works. if not, let me know.
I've got the same machine.
Good luck
