Wont stay running without pushing primer

My craftsmen lawnmower wont run unless you continue to push the primer

Hi... I have a Poulan PRO Quantum xnp 6.75. Garage kept, unused approximately 2 yrs. Added fuel, primed & mower started but then shut down immediately. Then fuel began leaking from the primer button. I'm a single mom & CANNOT afford to have anyone fix this. However I am attempting to repair myself. PLEASE.... If you have any suggestions &/or solutions I would LOVE to know.

Where is the primer ball

It may not have a primer ball. If it does, it would be attached to the carberator. If it starts, but won't stay running, that could mean your carberator needs to be cleaned/serviced.

I have a yard machine mower model number 11A-549R729 that will not stay running. Have replace plug,drain fuel tank and clean carb. If you push the primer bulb it will continue to run. But once you stop...

Your carbs main jet is blocked. Using the primer supplements the fuel input and keeps the engine from becoming fuel starved.

You need to remove the main jet and run a strand of fine wire through the jet to clear it.

The basics of the fuel line on these and many 2 cycle engines is this, one line from the tank goes to the primer bulb and the other from the tank is the return line from the carburetor. There should be another from the primer to the carb. The primer pushes fuel into the carb and any excess flows through the carb and back into the tank.

Ihave a Toro hand mower with a Tecumseh engine, was running fine until couple days ago. Wont stay running, unless you keep pushing the primer button. Starts ok, but not getting steady fuel flow.

My toro lawn mower, model 20016, won't stay running unless i push the primer plug...it'll stay running for a little bit then quit. yes...it has gas and oil.
