I have a Panasonic TH-42PX60U Plasma TV 42 inches. Every once in a while when I turn it on the HDMI/CABLE listing in the small blue box on the left corner will flash but no picture on the screen will appear, it stays blank even though the cable is on. The power light is working fine, just the picture is not appearing. The only way I can fix it is to unplug and restart. Any thoughts?

A guess here but do we assume you are using the speakers built into the TV? Also you do not tell what your source is and the type of connection. For instance if you have a VCR with a S-Video connection then you will have a decent picture but no sound as S-Video is strictly for video, you need a left/right RCA cable. If it's HDMI then it handles audio and video but some device you need to configure correctly so the HDMI cable will work.
Are the lines completely through the screen or just the upper or lower part of the screen? If through the whole picture, lines in the picture of a plasma can be caused by a defective Main Logic Control board or a bad plasma panel. The panel, if available would be very expensive (cheaper to buy a new TV). If the lines are just on the upper or lower part of the screen then it is the upper or lower scan drive board. Here is a list of the parts for your TV.
This could be a reception problem of the cable transmission or the cable box if used. Are you using cable or SAT box. Tv goes to blue screen if signal is weak automatically.
Problem is with your ISP/Cable Company accepting the installation as one with HD clients, which while not necessarily costing you more, must be specified to the cable box by your installer.
Is it a Plasma TV? Are you saying the screen is cracked? do you have a top box cable box? Also, make sure you have your TV input set to HDMI if you have an HDMI cable hooked up between your cable box and TV.
are you using a PC to feed a signal or maybe a cable with an adapter? I had the same issue when I used one of the rear HDMI ports to show a PC display. Apparently there is a software difference between the rear and side/front ports. Inputting the PC through the side HDMI port has solved the problem for me (so far!)
I need full details to assist you. Please let me know what is your cable box company?Which HDMI input from the TV? Where do you set your cable box?Above?Below?Away? Solutiondoct
