Dear jim_5,
Most domestic pressure washers use normal multi-grade engine oil. 15/50 wil be good. Industrial and high pressure washers usualy use gear oil (90 sae).

What kind of pump oil

What you have is a generic pump from china more than likely. Its built along the line of a FAIP pump. They arent supposed to have the oil changed in them at all. Most are sealed pumps but may have a plastic plug in it. If you must replace the oil then I would suggest Pressure washer parts catalog quick links Pressure Washers High Pressure... and get this item 4.5 OZ. AR64545 OIL FOR AXIAL PUMPS. It is recommended for pumps built similarly but not for your specific pump. But it should work. Good luck. W

The low pressure soap dispenser doesn't work. I have removed the pump manifold and it is full of rust. I do I remove the injector nipple from the pump manifold to clean it?

To properly fix this you will need to disassemble the hose and fittings, Clean them throughly and replace the hose. Also I suggest that the fatory filter be replaced or a small screen is placed over the line again.
Many of these filters are renoved because they don't fit into soap bottles.

How do you change the oil?

The pump on this unit doesn't use oil so you won't have to worry about the oil on that.

The engine oil can be changed though and is very easy to do. If you look to where the engine is mounted to the frame of the machine there is a oil plug on the bottom side that you can remove with a 12mm wrench. You are going to want to have something to catch the oil under the machine, I would recommend a gallon of milk with the top cut off.

What type of oil goes into the pressure washer pump...3600psi

I would recommend pump oil for this particular application because it contains special components in the oil but you can substitute as I have done many times with hydraulic fluid. You need to change your pump oil every 50 hours.

Engine runs fine. no water pressure.

These pumps are notorious for seasonal problems.
Tip the unit to the point you can pour engine oil into the water inlet connection. What your attempting to do is free up the ball seats in the pump. They get corroded when they sit and lock in place. Adding the oil or a vast amount of WD 40 to the water inlet often does the trick for loosening up the seat balls and springs.
After you add the oil (3 - 4 ounces) or WD 40 to the water inlet line just slowly pull the engine through with the ignition switch off. As the water inlet cavitates add more oil.
Let it sit over night and then take a block of wood and a hammer and tap on the power head. Don't over do it and do it in such a manner your not going to shear off any bolts or break anything. But... be serious with the hammer and block of wood.
Then connect inlet water hose, the pressure hose and test the unit. You may want to purge the oil lubricant into a bucket before you start the engine.
Give it a try and see what happens.

Binks bbr converting from pressure to siphon

Worked in paint repair shop for 18+ years. Every time we had that issue it was the wrong air cap. The particular model we always had trouble with was a Devilbiss JGA going from a pressurized system to a 1 quart cup. But the Devilbiss and Binks are quite similar.
The air cap from the pressurized system would actually cause a reverse pressure in the cup.
Both air caps were for this gun. Also the Devilbiss
rep said they should be interchangeable.
They weren't. Try a different air cap.
I'm kind of curious so please let me know if this works for your Binks.
Good luck!
