for sending text messages :1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct 2. call to your network operator customer care 3. request the message center number... 4.note it down 5. go to message settings>message center number 6. insert the number which is noted by you and save it this solves your messaging problem ... Check whether send my caller id is in on or set by network mode.this option is in Settings>call
check whether your message centre number is proper.this option is in messages<msg settings

Send an sms to 121 with MO as text. Mo stands for Mobile Office, the GPRS of Airtel.
However, you can use the following settings on your phone as even I am using Airtel GPRS.

Proxy Port Settings - Enabled
Proxy Port Number - 8080
APN - airtelgprs.com
Home page - google.com
Name - Mobile Office.
After these settings have been applied, reboot the phone.
Incase you send an sms to 121 then with in a few minutes you will receive an sms from them. This has to be saved. And your settings are automatically configured. BUT, I hope you have GPRS activated on your number. If not then ask 121 to do it.

the problem on it is in the software! you need to reprogram it, just go to the cellshop where there is an available of reprogramming, its not too expensive, its up to you how you negotiate the technician, but all you have to do is REPROGRAMMING
Turn the phone off and turn it back on, send yourself a text message, if not, then call your phone company, they may need to provision your account for SMS.
hi first u do the factory reseting.. then u face same problem just reinstall ur software in ur nearest nokia care center.. if u have warrenty its free of cost..
