Sony Bravia TV turns off and back on repeatedly by itself. Green light glows on Set top box continuously, and .
When it shuts down notice what light is lit , what color and is it solid or blinking. Respond to this same post for assistance and I will assist you with the issue.
Rule out any loose contacts in power outlet, RC Jack, cables and connectors. The problem described by you calls for opening the back cover and further investigation, which should only be done by a qualified service technician.
tv works for about 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. the red standby light flashes 50 times, then the tv. comes back on for approximetly 2 minutes then goes off again, only to repeat again
I had the same problem with my Son's TV ( Disney Cars 13" TV/DVD). It would work for a few minutes and then turn off. After reading the other posts, I found one that mentioned dry solders in the flyback section. I removed the back cover, again pretty easy with the help of another post on this site. (remove the lug nuts, and then the 6 screws that hold the wheels on. With the wheels off you can remove the 1 screw per side that need to come off. In addition, ther are 2 small screws by the video out section, and the 2 more screws at the top of the back secton.) really not bad.
I labeled each of the cables, and then removed the main board.
I used a basic soldering iron and retouched each point on the power and flyback sections of the board. I did not really see anything that looked bad, but I'm technician but I have played with electronics over the years.
reassembled and it works, it has been on for an hour now.
On your dish remote, press and hold the tv button until all 4 buttons light up, then release. push either of the power buttons once. Now start pushing the down channel button, It's the one right below select, continue pushing it until tv turns off. When tv goes off push down button one more time then push up button, when tv turns back on stop and press # key, tv light will flash 3 times and should be set. Note....if u press down button and tv does not turn off after going through all codes( tv light will start flashing) press cancel and try again only channel up this time. hope this helps.
