W3844will not connect with enternet. The computer is stuck in safe mode. My laptop onthe other hand is connecting to enternet.
Switch ON the PC, boot the PC
in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On until you
get the Safe Mode Option.
Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.
Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click
'System Restore'
A 'System Restore' window will appear.
Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and
click Next
Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are
facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date. The detail of that particular date should show "System
Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to
the previous month by clicking the '
Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a
reboot.
After reboot your problem should be resolved.

The 'need to know' info here is: what happened prior to the pc desiring safe mode over full OS boot?
This can be caused by:
- malfunction of a componant (graphic/sound card failure)
- virus/worm/trojan infection
- deleted or corrupted system files
If you have no idea as to 'why' and you are able to access and use SYSTEM RESTORE, run it for a date prior to the problem. Otherwise, to me, it sounds very much likely that you've got a bug and windows is trying like hell to protect your data by blocking the bug from infecting your system further.
The power switch method of shutting down the system (or yanking the power cord out -- same thing) will cause Windows to think something went drastically wrong that last time it was run (and it did) and default to wanting to start in Safe Mode again unless you change it when the boot options appear.
Have you tried restarting or forcing it to shut down and booting again? Hold your power button in and count to 10 if you are having trouble shutting down.
