How to remove rear light cover to change bulb

There are 2 popout screws that can be removed after opening the rear door. This did not seem to unseal the light, though I think I was doing it correctly. It still is on there pretty solid, & I do not want to force it off & break it.

How to remove rear light cover to change bulb - 298002.jpg 1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. 2. Open the liftgate to access and remove the two push-pins (3) that secure the rear lamp unit (1) to the side jamb (2) of the liftgate opening. 3. Pull the outboard side of the rear lamp unit rearward far enough to unsnap the two ball studs on the outboard side of the lamp housing from the two plastic grommets (6) in the quarter outer panel. 4. Pull the lamp away from the vehicle far enough to access and disengage the retainer on the body wire harness (4) from the tab on the lower lamp housing. 5. Disconnect the body wire harness connector from the pigtail wire connector (5) on the back of the lamp housing. 6. Remove the lamp from the lamp opening of the quarter outer panel.

Doorhandle

for passenger side:
1. unclip screw cover 'center flap' of inside door opener plastic cover, flap is 3/8"x 3/8" (center of plastic cover)
2. remove phillips screw now showing
3. push fabric panel (edge of door opener plastic cover-at hinged end of chrome handle) to allow uncliping of edge of plastic cover (top rt & lwr rt (for passenger side) of plastic cover)
4. open chrome inside door handle to allow plastic cover to be removed-slide plastic cover toward rear, free end of door to remove cover
5. remove switch panel-gently pry with wide non maring pry bar (cover wide blade screwdriver using cloth) do rear of sw panel 1st (don't pry front edge)
6. slide switch panel toward rear to allow removal
7. remove large phillips screw under sw panel
8. remove the 2 plastic covers near top, hinge edge -use plastic spoon handles to encourage caps to pop off. May also require small screwdriver approx 1/8" in to complete pop off
9. remove the 2 phillips screws w/ captive washers
10. remove 3 phillips/hex screws along the bottom inside of door panel
11. on outside/rear edge of panel push the 2 center pins of each in about 1/8"-this allows the clip to be pulled out w/ pin pushed in
12. remove plastic cover (REAR OF SIDE MIRROR)-pull window edge up and back.
13. lift rear of door panel (not hinge edge) up allow hinge edge to pivot around lower pin in door (hinge edge)
14. remove the 2 rt edge "L" brackets (gently pry center plastic pin out) (note the color and replace as removed)
15. slowly peel the clear plastc away from the non hinged end to expose the plastic panel with 3 phillips head screws
16. remove the 3 screws and panel for access to door handle.
17. using access area now available unlatch the rod attached to exterior door handle (unclip plastic to rotate clip up to allow rod to slide out-toward hinged edge)
18. using access area now available remove rod from ext door handle from inside door area
19. remove the 3 -10mm head bolts
20. remove the ext door handle (bottom edge out first)
reverse order to replace door handle

How do you change the rear light bulbs 1988 2 door hatchback tercel

Open up the trunk, and look for any screws that would link to the tail light light, remove them, then the tail light assembly should pop off. from their remove the bulbs and install new ones, you need to know the size, check modifiedlife.com for the correct light bulb sizes.

Is there a trick to getting to the rear turn signal on a 2003 ford focus hatchback. I had removed the screw to the lens cover but I still cannot gain access to the turn signal bulb to replace it.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (coupe)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the hatchback.

2. From inside the luggage

compartment remove the wing nut

of the rear light assembly cover.

3. Using a Phillips screw driver

remove the screw. The lamp is still

retained by a spring loaded clip.

Remove by gently pulling out the

light housing.

4. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise as far as possible and pull it

out.

5. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.

Install in reverse order.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (sedan)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the trunk.

2. From inside the luggage

compartment remove the three wing

nuts of the light housing.

3. Gently pull the light housing to

the outside.

4. Turn the bulb socket

counterclockwise and pull it out.

5. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
Install in reverse order.

Replacing tail/brake/backup lights and turn signal bulbs (wagon)

1. Make sure the headlamp control

is in the OFF position and then

open the hatchback.

2. Using a screw driver remove the

fixings and trim from the body.

3. Remove the socket from the lamp

assembly

4. Pull the bulb straight out of the

socket.
Install in reverse order.

OPEN REAR DOORS, REAR LIGHTS HAVE 2 TORX HEAD SCREWS IN VEHICLE DOOR HINGE AREA. REMOVE SCREWS, WIGGLE & PULL OUT ON LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THERE IS A 4 WIRES PLUGGED INTO THE LIGHT BOARD. UNPLUG & REMOVE 2 HEX HEAD SCREWS TO REMOVE BOARD & LIGHTS ASSEMBLY. IF A NEW BULB DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, NEW BOARDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE PARTS STORE.

Rear turn signal how to change bulb

open the liftgate remove the screws holding the tail,stop,turn signal and back-up light assembly to the rear door opening. seperate the light assembly from the vehicle body. disengaging the hook holding the outer end of the light assembly to the body. swing the housing out to access the bulb holders. rotate bulb holder and remove blown out bulb. installation is the reverse of removal. hope this will help!!!

I don't know this van but many tail light assembly's have a couple of screws you remove then a couple of snap clips. So after you remove the screws you gently pry the assembly off with a slim pry tool.
