Once the photo has been stamped with the date, the date is just more pixels, just like any faces or flowers or anything else in the photo. You can use a photo editing program to paint over it, blend it into the background, but you can't recover exactly what was there originally.

Hi im using a canon digital ixus 9515 camera and I have the wrong date stamp on all my recent photos. How can I delete the date?

There is no way you can delete the date stamp from the photos you have taken.
For future photos you can either correct the date or disable insertion of date stamp.

How do I delete the date? I have the date set wrong and can't get rid of it. It's spoiling my pictures. Please help!

I'm afraid you can't delete the stamps from the photos you've taken already. That could be done only by a photo editing software on your computer, such as Adobe Photoshop.

To disable the time stamps for new photos, follow the steps shown here:

I can't view advanced options. The date stamp on/off button has vanished. My Polaroid i634 has been restored to original settings, and now iconc/buttons are no longer there. How do I turn the date stamp...

I turned it on, and pressed the video/live recording button that was next to the trash/delete button. That is a whole other menu. After pressing the video/live recording button, I just went up to the first selection, "Program." That takes it off the basic/Q-Mode, which opens additonal options, like ISO and Date Stamp on/off. So basically:
1) Turn on, having the camera on picture taking mode, not review picture mode.
2) Press Video/Live Recording button.
3) Go to first option, called "Program"
4) In this mode, many other options are available, and there will be smaller icons.

Displaying time and date when printing

The date/time cannot be deleted once it is embedded in the image. To turn off the date/time deselect the date/time stamping by following procedure:
These instructions explain how to insert the date in images.
attention:
  • The [Date Stamp] cannot be deleted from the image data once it has been recorded because the date is written in as an image.
  • When selecting [Date Stamp] , [Recording Pixels] is set to 1600 x 1200 pixels and the compression (image quality) to [Fine].
  • When the shooting mode is set to <Movie> (g0029623.gif), settings for inserting the date and time cannot be made.
  • The following explanations are provided based on the assumption that the [Shooting Mode] is set to <Program AE> (g0034813.gif).

1. Press the <Power> button on the camera.

How to delete the date from photos

Hi,

Cameras normally have a setting where you can turn the date stamp on or off. Just browse through the menu. It will be there somewhere. In he case of the photos already taken with the date stamp you will be able to remove it with the brush tool in Photoshop.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Cannot enter the date stamp.

I was fighting the same problem for several weeks and finally solve the problem this morning. I overrode the system by simply creating a new MII and deleting the old one. Worked like a charm. gb
