I had this same thing happen to me. i spent some time trying to find a image of this so i could replace my belt. ford dealers will help. but for me this was not a option. so i searched the net. here is a image that may help.
That is the proper diagram, however do NOT get a Gates replacement belt, they will slip and squeal within hours of installation.
Ford or Dayco #278 are the only ones that will fit. The tensioner can only take up about 1" of slack and the Gates belt is slightly longer. Once it heats up and streches it slips and melts the ribs which causes more slipping. Now the belt is ruined, cant be returned and your truck still needs a belt
