My catalyst control center wont work

Install an older or newer version from ati.com.

I don't know of a way to close specific ones when they come up. You can always disable applications from System Preferences; change between Banners, Alerts, and Badges; and even turn off Notification Center all together.

Ccc.exe is a process for Catalyst Control Centre: Host application, see what is ccc.exe So, try to un-install Catalyst Control Centre and install newer version.

reinstall your catalyst drivers from the ati website, there is also a M$ fixit for your CD/DVD drive located here http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems good luck!

Catalyst is usually refering to your video controler that is either corrupted or nor working properly. Might sure you update by going to the main website or simply search.

FIXED : Before you start your legacy game, software where the "Recommanded Mode 1280 x 1024 60Hz" keeps showing, change your display FROM VIDEO CARD DISPLAY control application to 1024x768 or your choice.

My Syncmaster 2233 had same problem of "Not optimum mode" box coming on whenever I started any old game like Age of Empires etc. It got fixed by selecting FROM DISPLAY CARD DRIVER CONTROL UTILITY's (mine from Catalyst Control Center) >Set desktop area to > 1024 x 768 in my case BEFORE STARTING old application/game. Switch back to your normal resolution after you are done with this application.

You need to reinstall the video driver, it was corrupted somehow. Get it from here

1. Are you installed all the full driver for your graphic card, which include the Catalyst Control Center on it?
2. The Catalyst Control Center needs the Microsoft .NET Framework to be installed, otherwise it won't work.

The Displays Manager is similar to Control Panel > Display, but can only be viewed from the Catalyst Control Center

CTRL+ALT+(arrow key - usually up/down) will solve your problem.
