sounds like a weak spring or stretched belt i would guess old belt.

Hi, there is an idler pulley that runs on the rear belt that you replaced, make sure the idler arm rotates freely on its pivot bolt and make sure the spring that holds the idler against the belt is not weak. Regards Phil.

Yeah, these belts can seem impossible to figure out. There are idler pulleys that press against the back of the belt. The routing is sometimes not obvious. Do a search for your particular model.
