I need wiring diagram for ayp model ypb17h42 - Garden

normally replacing malfunctions requires knwoning what is preior wjrog whether is mechcanical alos electrical also instrumental thereafrter attempting to fix by finding every parts that needs replacement.

The wiring schematic is going to be supplied by the manufacturer of the lawnmower, in your case that would be AYP. The only electrical supplied by Briggs is wire(s) from the alternator and any wires that may be involved if you have an anti-backfire solenoid connected to the carburetor. The harness from AYP plugs into the wiring from Briggs. In essence, you will need to get the manufacturers model no. in order to obtain a schematic for the tractor wiring, (lights, starter, switches, etc.) Keep this in mind, although they come together in the ignition switch, the electric start circuit is separate from the ignition system so do not get these two confused. If they are crossed and voltage gets sent to the ignition coil, you will blow it in about 1 second. Hope this helps in some way.

Look under the running boards, Sears(AYP) sometimes put them there if not, go to www3.sears.com , type in your 917.xxxxxx model number and it will show you an exploded view of it
