Resetting ip on zebra gx420t - Zebra GX420d Thermal Label Printer

If you are unable to change the IP address of your Zebra LP 2844-Z using the ^default command or Zebra Utilities, and updating the BIOS did not help either, you may need to try a factory reset of the printer.
To do this, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold the feed button on the front of the printer.
3. While holding the feed button, turn on the printer.
4. Wait for the status light to turn solid red, and then release the feed button.
5. The status light will blink green a few times, and then turn solid green.
6. Press and release the feed button once. The status light will blink red a few times, and then turn solid amber.
7. Press and release the feed button again. The status light will blink green a few times, and then turn solid green.

The printer should now be reset to its factory settings, including the default IP address of 192.168.168.168. You should now be able to access the printer through this IP address and change the settings as needed.

so load or download and load the software for it
and work from its templates

disconnect printer from computer and power on again. at driver chech if still jobs there and clear buffer. at printer, if still printing whithout connested its becase it still have information to print. just reset printer to factory default or let job to finish.

Could be faulty printhead. OR ribbon is put in the other way around. hard to say. It would be better off call the service technician.

Desktop printer has limited memory. It's all depending on how many information you put in the label. Your communication cable used? USB or serial? what type of fonts you use

you need to adjust the print head and perform a calibration.

you have to callibrtae the printer with your paper

Use Zebra Net View or Zebra Net Bridge software. Should be on your cd supplied with printer or download from zebra website.
